There is many books that have been written that keep men in darkness. Adolf Hitler was one man who used the darkness from the books he read. One book in particular was the book that Charles Darwin published in 1859, "On the Origin of Species, by Means of Natural Selection, Or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life". This book fueled Hitler and gave him the argument that the strong had every right to press upon and exterminate the weak. This book promoted "survival of the fittest". Hitler exterminated six million Jews and other people because he thought they were biologically inferior or less advanced.
But there is a Book called the Holy Bible (KJV) that can bring men out of the darkness into the glorious Light of the Gospel of Christ. "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Corinthians 4:3-6)
This Book is inspired by God. God inspired His words. God communicated His words perfectly through holy men of God. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 tells us that all scripture (not some or most) is inspired by God. That's right ALL scripture is inspired. Every verse from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 is given by inspiration of God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. " (2 Timothy 3: 16-17)
This Book is preserved by God. God preserved His words. God kept His inspired text safe through out all ages, without loss or error. "The word of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation ever." (Psalm 12 :6-7)
This Book has a purpose. God has a purpose for His words. God's words tell us how we are to use them. God's words are profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and for instruction in righteousness. God's words will bring men out of the darkness into the glorious Light.
The Living Word, Jesus Christ is the One who is that Light. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. " (John 1: 1-5)
Lets have a word of prayer : Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word. We know that Your Word is settled in heaven and that heaven and earth shall pass away, but Your Word shall not. Father, we have great confidence in Thee and in this Book. Help us to love it; help us to read it; help us to learn it; help us to hide it in our hearts; help us to preach it; help us to teach it. Thank you Heavenly Father, in Jesus precious name I pray. Amen !!!
