The Book of Mormon opens at Kentucky Center

Two Mormons wind up in a place far beyond Salt Lake City in The Book of Mormon, which PNC Broadway in Louisville will present starting tonight.

The Book of Mormon will take place from May 27-June 8 at various times. All performances are to happen in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located downtown at 501 W Main Street.

Tickets for each show are $48-$138 per person, depending on the seat. All tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.

In the comedy The Book of Mormon, two Mormons of opposite personalities are sent to Africa on a missionary trip. When they arrive, they are faced with harsh conditions and Ugandans who pretend to be happy just to get by. However, through getting to know the culture, speaking with the Ugandans, and sharing science-fiction stories mixed in with Mormon knowledge, the two sides may reach an understanding of each other.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, both South Park creators, created the book, music, and lyrics of The Book of Mormon with Robert Lopez.

More information on The Book of Mormon can be found at the Kentucky Center website or the PNC Broadway in Louisville website.
