The Spicy Lamb Farm in Peninsula, Ohio is offering an unique, fun, family-oriented event that you won't want to miss when they present their annual Blessing of the Sheep on Saturday, April 19. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Cleveland to Peninsula.
The Spicy Lamb Farm Located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, The Spicy Lamb Farm is a working farm that raises Dorset sheep for wool and food. Currently the flock consists of 70 ewes including one rare Horned Dorset ewe. Each year the Farm holds a ceremony to bless their flock for another year.
Blessing of the Sheep After the blessing ceremony, visitors can enjoy entertainment provided by bagpipers. There will also be an educational Border Collie sheep herding demonstration which is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The Spicy Lamb Farm uses Border Collies to help manage their flock of sheep.
Visitors will be able to purchase merchandise items like wool blankets (made from 100% virgin wool heirloom), yarn, sheep skins, natural color throws and finger puppets.
Hours for the Blessing of the Sheep are noon - 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
