The Bitchfits performed at The Whisky A Go Go, on Jan. 22. They are an all female cover band of Misfits. They are Gwenn Standzbig on vocals, Cherry Blowme on bass, Goyle Von Nutstomper on guitar, and Green Hellen on drums. The ladies could have easily been the fourth piece of Danzig Legacy—along with Misfits, Danzig and Samhain.
Blowme wore a leather vest, a cut off black cut-off shirt underneath, black armbands, a studded belt, black jeans and black boots. Standzbig wore a black and white necklace with the word “BITCH” on it, black halter-top with bones, studded belt, skin-tight black pants, her arms were covered in tattoos and wore boots. She wore gloves to match her halter-top but the bones on her gloves were elevated. Nutstomper had a tattoo on her arm, a fish net on her right forearm, a choker, wore a Misfits armband on her upper arm, a black bracelet, belt with key rings hanging off of them and black boots. Her guitar the word “Hell” on it and her guitar strap had a white lightning bolt. Hellen wore a black tattoo, a tattoo on the inside of her forearm and black pants. Standzbig, Blowme, and Nutstomper had the signature Misfits hair. Nutstomper had a pink streak in her slicked bangs. All of them wore the signature face paint.
During the performance, a couple of the audience members danced. Standzbig noticed one of them and said, “We want to thank Dance, Dance Revolution.” The Bitchfits also plugged in their weekly online radio show. She also mentioned her reason of not selling merchandise, at the venue. It was due to financial reasons between the band and the venue. Skata of Long Beach Rehab danced in the crowd and the audience members sang with almost every song.
Standzbig performed with a skull attached to a chain, on her microphone. Between the majority of the songs, she yelled, “Let’s do this b*****s!” Standzbig performed with a plastic knife. She stated that she usually performs with a real one but the venue wouldn’t allow.
The Bitchfits performed “Halloween”, “Skulls”, “Astro Zombies”, “Where Eagles Dare”, “Teenagers from Mars”, “I Turned Into a Martian”, “Angelf**k”, “Static Age”, “We are 138”, “Hybrid Moments”, “Mommy Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?” “Die, Die My Darling”, “Last Caress”, “American Psycho”, “Earth A.D. (Wolf’s Blood)”, “Devilock”, “Death Comes Ripping”, “London Dungeon”, “20 Eyes” and “Bullet”.
