The birth of a new column

Home technology. Pretty vague, huh? This could mean high-tech, new and fancy, or the latest and greatest, or it could mean well-proven, old-school technology that we’ve lived with every day for a lifetime that no one has figured out how to make new and improved yet. Either way, this new Home Technology column will dig into all of it in an effort to demystify the secret behind brewing a perfect cup of coffee, turning your home into a cutting-edge, high-tech showplace, why there’s more to vacuuming than just good suction, and everything in between.
This will be the home of cool companies and the amazing products they make. Some will be big and well known, while others will be upstarts. Sometimes, we’ll be looking at plug-and-play simplicity, while at other times, we’ll take a look at the latest hacks to make what you already have better than it was before.

If you can watch it, listen to it, cook in it or on it, put it on something, put it under something, make yourself wet with it, make yourself dry with it, sleep on it, in it, or under it, sit on it, rest your feet on it, eat from it, cut or grow the grass with it, fill it full of junk and hide it in the garage for safe keeping, if it belongs in, on, or near the home, chances are you will see it here. If there’s something you think is missing from this column, you are invited to take a moment to let me know. If you make a product you think the world ought to know about, tell me about it, I’ll do my best to help spread the word. If you disagree with the information seen in this column, you are invited to let me know about it in a sane and rational way free of invectives and personal attacks, and I’ll do my best to dig a little deeper and find out why.

Home technology. Less vague than first thought, but a broad subject, nonetheless. Please click the subscribe button to join me on this domestic adventure for what I’m sure will be a fun ride through the everyday, as well as the extraordinary.
