'The Biggest Loser' trainers share weight loss secrets with Dr. Oz (Video)

The Biggest Loser” trainers Jillian Michaels, Dolvett Quince and Bob Harper have helped hundreds of contestants lose weight and improve their health. The trainers shared their top tips with Dr. Oz on the Jan. 11 episode of “The Dr. Oz Show.”

Former celebrity trainer, Bob Harper, has been on every season of the show. Harper said eating enough fiber is key to weight loss. Fiber helps with digestion and gives us a feeling of fullness. Bob said berries are a great source of fiber.

Harper also warned against drinking calories. A specialty coffee shop latte can have more calories in it than a meal. Sticking with water is the best option.

Michaels has also been with the show since the beginning, but hasn’t worked on every season. Jillian just returned to the show after a two year hiatus. Michaels said counting calories is an absolute necessity when it comes to weight loss. However, Jillian stressed that it’s important not to go below 1,200 calories a day for women and 1,600 calories a day for men.

Quince said the secret to getting and staying slim is to eat plenty of vegetables. Dolvett also recommends eating plenty of lean protein and limiting carbs. Quince recommends eating whoel grains, such as brown rice, when you do eat carbs.

The 14th season of “The Biggest Loser” airs Mondays on NBC.
