On this season of “The Biggest Loser” Shay Sorrells is faced with being the heaviest contestant in “The Biggest Loser” history. Shay is a 30-year-old Social Worker from Newport Beach, California.
Shay grew up the youngest of three girls. She was in the foster care system from age five to 18. As far as Shay can remember, she has been overweight. In the last 10 years Shay has found that stress, emotions and learned eating habits have continued to increase her weight. Both of Shay's older sisters are overweight, and nearly all of her extended family. Family celebrations were always centered on food.
Meals at home included fried chicken, biscuits, jambalaya, gumbo, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, cakes, pies, cobblers and anything else filled with starch! At a young age, Shay was expected to learn to cook and help make these meals for the family. In the family it was considered an honor to cook well.
Shay is a social worker and is always willing to do what it takes to help a client find their motivation and strength. Currently Shay holds a 4.0 in her Master's in Social Work program, which is full-time, meanwhile she works three part time jobs and holds down an internship. Lastly, Shay's weight affects her career as she works with people for whom she is attempting to motivate, and her clients look to her as an example. Shay is eager to once and for all get into shape so she can live a long and healthy life with her husband and stepsons.

I love Shay!!!! I am praying for her and was deeply upset last night to find the scoundrels voted her off!!!!!!! I don't plan to watch another episode until the finale!
Sherri I am definitely with you. I don't know why they didn't show how Shay looks today after the show (just Daniel). The only person that I would root for after Shay and Daniel would be Danny (however an unrealistic weight of 175 from his pictures from when he was 16 are ridiculous).
Shay, what a wonderful spirit you have! I have thought about you all day today, and want you to know I would like to help you throught the hard times ahead. We all have low moments in our lives and I think I could help. I'm not a doctor of any kind, but just a person with a good ear. I'm sure your a person with many friends but new friends are a good thing also. Please keep up all your good work!!! " 100 lbs. in 9 weeks " is not any small acomplishment! YOU ARE A WINNER.......
