'The Biggest Loser' Rudy the big teddy bear who played college football

On this season of “The Biggest Loser” Rudy is the seemingly intimidating guy, with his height being 6'4", but has a heart of gold.  Rudy is 31, and lives in Brooklyn, Connecticut.

Rudy is larger than life, a real-life Paul Bunyan. He is a fun-loving, easygoing "teddy bear" who still chops wood the old fashioned way. He admits to being an emotional kid and being teased. This was the start of him using food as comfort. In order to keep his weight in check, his parents kept him active in all sports such as swimming, soccer, basketball and baseball. His sister passed away from leukemia when she was just 16. Throughout her sickness, Rudy ate himself through the pain.

Rudy earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he was a four-year starter on their varsity football team. Since leaving college, he has struggled with his weight while trying to balance his job and family. Rudy currently works as a Senior Production Technician at a power station in Rhode Island. His weight keeps him from doing his job to his best abilities, as he is often tired, short of breath and unable to fit into tight areas.

Rudy's family is the reason he wants to be healthy. Rudy's daughters are his life; having the energy to chase them around the yard, or sit down for the occasional tea party would mean the world to him. He dreams of the day he gets to walk his girls down the aisle.

Heart of gold? Yea, let's vote off someone who poses no threat to anybody and has the most to GAIN from being on the show. I hope everyone see's rudy's TRUE colors now. Teddy bear? bah more like snake.

I have to agree with integrity. He is a genuine snake. I understand this is a "game" but PULEEZE where is your heart in all of this. Backstabbing snake Rudy....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Biggest Loser Fan 2! 2 years ago

First he betrayed Shay, now Rebecca. "Heart of gold" is NOT how I think of him. I used to like him. I used to respect him. I WANT to like him, but I have lost ALL respect. He should be ashamed of himself.

  • He's a jerk 2 years ago

So he backstabs Shay one week and this week he votes off Rebecca because he doesn't trust her?? What a snake, not to mention he talks like a dope. Surely Karma will not allow him to win!

I wonder how Rudy's going to explain himself to his maker about his lies and his playing people. He will have to answer for it.

All you people talking about a snake and integrity you guys have to keep it real there playing for 100k anything goes. You guys have heard sticks and stones he wants to be able to take he's family on a nice trip.

i don't mean to be a debbie downer but i really think shay did deserve to go home. she felt sorry for herself, bc her mom was a druggie, but she had a family at home, a support system that SHE NEVER talked about. all she ever did was complain about how unlucky she was....she's a fake...women who really did have tough childhoods never dwell on it bc IT WAS TOUGH and they don't want to think about it....they think about the good...

i'm sorry but if i ever met shay, i'd have to tell her what she's doing...she milks it for EVERYTHING...she never bucked up and said "I DID THIS TO MYSELF"....rudy didn't talk about his sister for weeks, he NEVER milked the sympathy he could have bc that happened to him...Shay brought it up EVERY CHANCE SHE HAD....she's manipulative and she was mad bc her bull wasn't flaking off on to rudy....you want to sit here and pretend like she had integrity, like she was an honest and unthreatening woman...fine, do it but don't ridicule rudy for not buying it
