“The Biggest Loser” has replaced trainer Sandy Krum with Ryan Applegate. TMZ reports on Aug. 18 that Applegate is not certified in the state of California. Season 15 of the popular reality show will return this fall without Sandy Krum.
The NBC show has not revealed why trainer Sandy Krum was let go. Despite being on “The Biggest Loser” since 2007, he was replaced with Ryan Applegate. TMZ points out Applegate does not have California certification for training and taping for the next season has already started. The new season will begin airing on Oct. 8.
Although details about the next season are limited, Ruben Studdard allegedly plans to join “The Biggest Loser.” The former “American Idol” winner has struggled with his weight and admits he wants to avoid some of the health problems the rest of his family has faced. Studdard states, “I don’t want to be worried at 40, and if I don’t fix things now, I will be.”
Studdard has turned to a weight loss clinic at Duke University in the past and lost 100 pounds. He switched to a vegetarian diet, reduced his calorie intake and planned his meals. However, he had trouble training with Gunnar Peterson because his low calorie limit made it difficult to exercise. Ruben Studdard admits he has gained back the weight he lost, so he hopes “The Biggest Loser” can finally help him lose the extra pounds and teach him how to maintain the weight.
