“The Biggest Loser” star Ruben Studdard may not have won this season of the show, but he was not shy to talk about how well his contestants had done for the finale. And while jaws dropped when the winner revealed her new body, Ruben has been standing up for his new friend. According to a new US Magazine report published on Feb. 6, “The Biggest Loser” star Ruben Studdard is now speaking out in defense of Rachel’s dramatic weight loss for the finale.

"The one thing I will say about my friend Rachel Frederickson is that she is a hard worker," Ruben revealed in an interview after the finale left people in shock. "I've never seen anyone work harder to change their life than Rachel." Of course, many thought that Rachel had become too skinny after dropping the weight.

"“The Biggest Loser” is about making changes in your life, and she has most definitely done that," he revealed about Frederickson, who dropped 155 pounds and ended up being a size 0/2. "This young lady was a champion swimmer, a six-time state champion swimmer, and she had a lot of setbacks that made her turn to food to cope with those things." He points out that she has overcome her weight struggles. "She's been able to overcome that, so I'm very proud of Rachel," he said. "I'm very proud of what she's become. She's the “The Biggest Loser” winner, and that's all I know."
