“The Big Ride: Colors Across America” is a motorcycle ride conceived by a man named Danny Ray Lee. Danny is also a proud member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club. Here, in Danny’s own words, he explains the reasons behind his desire to embark on “The Big Ride” every year:
Every person questions “The Big Ride.” Many believe it is just a party across the United States. My answer is this: Have you ever been totally alone, walked into an area with motorcycle clubs present whose members want to pull you apart? Wearing my Colors, I am a 1%er in a world of Alpha Males that would give their lives to defend their own Colors. I am unarmed, alone, with no way of being rescued, offering nothing but my hand. Every other day I face law enforcement encounters. I'm wearing Colors and a 1% Diamond. It's Brutal! Every hard-charging dedicated cop wants a piece of me. You are put in the dirt as often as you sit in a chair. I have been searched countless times, been treated like a dog (often daily). I have been turned down from sleeping somewhere and I've been literally thrown out of towns for just being a human. Every man who wants to earn a name or show off has a go at you. If you fight, the cops come, and who do you think is going to be cuffed? Me! There are many citizens that hate me because they think I’m a gang member, not a man riding in a motorcycle club.
Last year I rode 12,500 miles in 52 days. My last stop was Denham Springs, LA. I stayed with my great friend, Hormone (we hunkered down together and weathered Hurricane Isaac that took almost a week to pass over the Gulf States). We talked of him joining me this year. We talked about his young children playing with mine. We talked about 1%er's from all over coming together as a voting force. We talked about people being tolerant. One and a half months later, Hormone was shot in the face by members of a different 1% club, while pulling into a VFW Benefit to donate $800! Three Warlocks MC members were shot dead before they even got off their bikes: Hormone, Davy and Dresser. Unarmed, shot dead. Two other brothers had to battle for their lives. FOR WHAT? Living our Lifestyle? Who do we turn to except ourselves? We must change something. Anything! We are men, we are bikers, we are 1%er's, with so much in common. We don't have to kill each other. Bikers are fathers, mothers, grandparents, children, friends and your neighbors, clubs, free riders, and citizens. Drivers run over us and get nothing more than a ticket. If I ran over a pedestrian I'd be put in jail. We need to demand Mandatory Education and Penalties. It's completely up to each of us to accomplish this. I implore each of you to support “The Big Ride: Colors Across America,” dedicated to the memory of all the fallen.

Danny’s plea is not just an effort to collect money and have a personal party across America. Many will continue to view his cause this way but if you are a member of the biker community or know someone who is, then it will be easier to comprehend the seriousness of Mr. Lee’s mission. You are the backbone of “The Big Ride.” Danny is the spokesman for millions of brothers and sisters. The goal is to raise $25,000 for this year's ride. Danny plans to visit every State in the U.S. and if possible, Europe and South Africa. If you believe in a future with acknowledgment, tolerance, and justified equality for any citizen who rides a motorcycle, please consider donating to “The Big Ride” (info below):
