Wednesday night the “Big Brother 2013” winner was determined. It came down to Spencer Clawson, GinaMarie Zimmerman and Andy Herren. How did everything play out in the Sept. 18 finale, and who walked away with the $500,000 “Big Brother 15” finale prize?
As “Big Brother” spoilers had indicated, GinaMarie won round 1 of the HOH competition and Andy won round 2. Before viewers got to see round 3, the infamous Dr. Will Kirby met up with the jury members to talk to them about their final 3. Of course Dr. Will tried to guide these jury members to some sense, but it's not like they had much to work with in deciding which of these final three were most deserving of the big win.
Next up Andy and GinaMarie faced off in the final round of the HOH competition. Many had anticipated that Andy Herren would have an edge in this competition, as it depended on knowing how the jury members would answer questions about themselves. Though ultimately it was a fairly close competition, Andy Herron won the final HOH competition.
Andy had promised both Spencer and GinaMarie he would take them to the final 2, so which promise would he keep? Many had theorized that Andy had an easier path to a win against Spencer than GinaMarie, but would he take Spencer with him to the jury?
Now Andy Herren had to make his choice. Andy voted to evict Spencer, which was a surprise to many. He said he had promised GinaMarie on night 1 that he'd take her to the finals, and as a result he had to evict Spencer.
Spencer told Julie Chen he had wondered how deep the relationship went between Andy and GinaMarie, so he wasn't entirely surprised by his eviction. He said he had seen some tells from Andy over the past few days, so he did see it coming. Next up the jury got to ask each of the two finalists three questions. GinaMarie was asked what her biggest game move was besides getting Amanda out. GinaMarie basically decided her big move was putting up Amanda and McCrae, so she stuck to that even though Amanda asked her to exclude that.
Andy was asked what his biggest game move was outside of being part of The Exterminators. Herren said that aligning with Amanda and McCrae, and keeping it under wraps, was his biggest move. He said that nobody knew what a threat he was, and his ability to play all sides of the house was his big move. He also pointed out engineering putting up Nick as a big move.
GinaMarie's next question was about her biggest obstacle in the game. She said that having Nick leave was the toughest thing, and even the jury couldn't help but laugh a bit. Andy was then asked why the jury should vote for him after he stabbed everybody in the back. Andy says he appreciates a good game, and he thinks he is the one who played the best game. Next GinaMarie was asked why the jury should vote for her after the hurtful things she said and did. She said that losing Nick really shook her, and the money would really change her life.
Andy was asked why he lied to so many jury members unnecessarily, and he said he lied because he didn't want people upset with him. He kept people in the dark to keep himself covered as people left for the jury. Finally, Spencer got the last word, and he asked Andy why he should get the money. Andy said that he had promised GinaMarie he would always have her back, and he stayed loyal to her over everybody else. Andy said that while many thought he wasn't loyal, ultimately he was loyal specifically to GinaMarie.
GinaMarie and Andy made their final statements to the jury. GinaMarie wished everybody well and Andy said he played the game with his heart and his mind. He pointed out that he probably was never really in real danger of eviction, and he was always thinking about how to stay in the game. He said he was always with the most powerful alliance in the game and he wants everybody to understand he always played with thought behind his decisions.
Now it was time for the jury to vote. Though many “Big Brother 2013” fans had predicted an Andy versus GinaMarie face-off would be close, after the jury questioning and final statements it seemed Andy had a strong edge. How would the voting pan out? In a landslide vote, Andy Herren is the "Big Brother 2013" winner.
What did you think of the jury's decision for the “Big Brother 2013” winner? Were you surprised by the vote? This was a season unlike any other, as probably any fan would attest to at this point. “Big Brother 15” is officially a wrap, and many fans seemed ready to say their goodbyes to this one.
