'The Big Bang Theory' season 5: one large friendship painting

There wasn't anything monumental that happened in Thursday night's new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" -- but sometimes, that's not necessarily a major issue. What was a surprise was seeing that this entire episode never featured the men and women interacting in any real capacity at all -- each gender had their own storyline.

  • For the man, the story revolved around Sheldon trying to square off against Kripke for an office that was being vacated -- but after a series of increasingly ridiculous stunts to try and win it, he soon realized that it was not exactly what he wanted anyway due to a myriad of problems.
  • Speaking of problems, Penny found herself in hot water after she tried to take down a giant picture given to her by Amy off the wall -- one that was incredibly hideous, but she did not want to end up hurting her feelings. Her final explanation? Throwing Bernadette under the bus in saying that it would make her jealous -- but even this couldn't even save Penny from being stuck with it.

There were laughs throughout the episode, and even though we are no step closer to any of these characters making a change in their lives after this week, we still have to say we're rather pleased.
