'The Bible' on History Channel continues with familiar stories

The History Channel continued on Sunday night with a second installment of “The Bible.” In this two-hour broadcast titled “Homeland” it featured some more well-known and unforgettable biblical characters. Bright House Networks subscribers in Tampa Bay witnessed the hit miniseries on channel 25. Samson and Delilah started off the first hour with extraordinary casting from the “Game of Thrones” actor, Nonso Anozie as Samson. It was an interesting change of pace from the oftentimes sanitized versions of that time period.

For the second hour the remarkable story of David and Goliath introduced David as would be king. We are later shown his many flaws during his rule and committing sins, such as yearning for his best friend’s wife, Bathsheba. Ironically, all this occurs while he’s the caretaker of the Ark of the Covenant, and devising a plan to build God’s temple. Next week’s episodes will be the last of the Old Testament and the start of the New Testament.
