Some dogs hate baths, and for owners who have dogs who struggle in the tub, keeping any dog clean can be quite the challenge. Here are some tips to bathe a dog successfully, whether they love the tub or dread it.
Luke warm water is the best option, since it doesn't shock the dog like cold or hotter water will. Never fill the tub more than 4 inches high, or enough to cover your dog's feet, so you can effectively bathe them.
Use a mild baby shampoo or a shampoo for dogs, not 'people' shampoo or dish soap for bathing. This keeps your dog's coat protected and creates less suds to have to wash off.
Have a spray nozzle you can use to reach areas that your hands can't reach, like the behind or the belly. Rather than force your dog to sit or lie in the water, a spray nozzle is a much more humane option.
