The best thing you'll watch all day: "Stuff People Say to Celiacs"

It's easy to get down on yourself sometimes when you're gluten-free. It's no fun to sit back and watch your friends chow down on delicious, glutenous deep-dish pizza while you're nibbling away at a small slice of your gluten-free thin crust pizza, hoping that the kitchen didn't cross-contaminate it. It's not fun to pepper the waitstaff with questions about what dishes are safe and how your food is being made, or to have people give you funny looks because you've asked so many questions. But I'll tell you what is funny--Better Batter's "Stuff People Say to Celiacs" video.

Better Batter is a company that makes gluten-free baking mixes--flour mixes, cake mixes, and more. Clearly, they know something about making Celiacs' mouths happy. In this instance, they're not focused on feeding us gluten-free folks--they just want to make us laugh a little bit. Being gluten-free isn't generally a funny topic of conversation, but this video is pretty amusing--and totally relatable for those of us living the gluten-free lifestyle.

"Stuff People Say to Celiacs" will amuse you even though you've likely heard many of its punch lines before. Who hasn't had that well-intentioned friend who orders you a salad and asks if you can just pick the croutons off? Or the friend who wanted to invite you out to eat with the gang, but ended up not inviting you because you "can't eat anything there"? Or the family member who asks whether you can eat this or that ad nauseum?

This video will not only make you giggle--it'll also make you smile and realize you're definitely not alone in your gluten free-ness. And it may even make you better appreciate the goofy questions your friends and family ask as they're trying to help you make sure you get a meal that's safe to eat.
