The summer has kicked off with some of the best parties and music Atlanta has to offer on the park. ATL Live, a montly music series in the tents at Piedmont Park, is set to for the second installment of the series on May 15th at 8pm. The event is headlined by R&B crooner Tank and includes a line up featuring R&B performers, Case and K. Michelle. Guests can mingle with former Source Magazine Executive Benzino and Stevie J's, Magnificent 757's, and Lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns
The first installment of the music series launched last month with a performance by Avery Sunshine, and appearances from TheYes Ma'ams, a new pop group. The series was relaunched in 2009 by Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols and has quickly become a staple among the who's who in the Atlanta music industry. ATL Live attracts music executives such as Steve Rifkin, Devyne Stephens, Kawan Prather, Kenard Gibbs, CEO of Soul Train, and Catherine Brewton of BMI. The excitement of the event centers on the new talent showcased and getting gussied up to see who you may find inconspicuously sitting in the audience. Those who enjoy rock, will be happy to know Centennial Olympic park is gearing up for Party on The Park on Saturday May 19. The all day event goes from 3pm -11pm and includes performances by The Flaming Lips, Young the Giant, AWOLNATION, Dawes and Ponderosa.
