The best skiing in Arizona courtesy of the White Mountain Apache Tribe

Dago te! Hello in Apache. For some of the best recreation in Arizona you have to visit the White Mountain Apache Tribe and their magnificent White Mountains, home to the Sunrise Park Resort.

Sunrise Park is the premier ski destination in Arizona, owned and operated by the sovereign White Mountain Apache Tribe. Sunrise Park has 8 lifts, a sports shop, two rental shops, and 6 restaurants.

It has three mountains to ski, Sunrise Peak, Apache Peak and Cyclone Peak. Apache Peak is 100% open, and Sunrise and Cyclone are 98% open.

Lift prices are reasonable with juniors starting at $28 per day, youth at $42 per day, and adults are just $49 per day. Sunrise also offers a ski school. Starting January 5, 2010, you can get half off an adult day ticket with the purchase of a full price adult day ticket in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Park.

There are numerous activities and events all season long, click here to see a list.

The Tribe also operates the Sunrise Park Lodge which is just down the road from the Park.

The seven day forecast for tonight January 19, 2010 is predicting snow to heavy snow every day with lows from the mid teens to highs in the mid to upper thirtys.

The last daily ski report for the base is 34"-50", but that will definately change this week.

Support our tribal neighbors only 3 1/2 hours northeast of Phoenix and enjoy the beautiful White Mountains home to the White Mountain Apache people.
