The multinational operatic pop vocal group Il Divo is bringing their Best of Il Divo tour to the Majestic Theatre in May. Tickets for this classical crossover quartet go on sale this Friday February 1, 2013.
Il Divo was formed in the United Kingdom by music manager and reality TV personality Simon Cowell. Simon intended the members to be multinational so he conducted a worldwide search that lasted two years. Il Divo is made up of four male singers which include French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, American tenor David Miller and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler. They sing in Spanish, English Italian, French and Latin.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 2004 and it reached multiplatinum status. Subsequent albums have sold millions of copies and their concerts are very popular worldwide. Greatest Hits, released last year, is their most recent album.
At their shows they perform with a full orchestra and sing popular songs like “Somewhere” and “Unbreak My Heart.”
