The hit romantic comedy that treated fans of the franchise to a long awaited reunion at the box office is now out on DVD and Blue-ray. “The Best Man Holiday” which brought back the original cast from 1999’s “The Best Man” became available for purchase on Tuesday at Amazon.com.
Stars Harold Perrineau and Monica Calhoun appeared on “The Arsenio Hall Show” last night and surprised Hall’s studio audience with free copies of the film. The DVD contains the making of the movie, a gag reel and commentary from writer-director Malcolm D. Lee.
Perrineau and Calhoun returned for the sequel along with Morris Chestnut, Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, Terrence Howard, Regina Hall, Taye Diggs and Melissa De Sousa. They star as a group of old college friends who reunite for the holiday and discover some things haven’t changed. The film which premiered in mid November of 2013 went on to gross over $70 million domestically at the box office. This may not be the end of the story for the film’s characters as Lee was in negotiations shortly after the movie’s release for a possible third installment of the franchise.
