Fans of the hit romantic comedy “The Best Man” will learn what their favorite characters from the original have been up to when the sequel hits the big screen later this year. A report from The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday says a sequel is in the works that reunites the ensemble cast from the 1999 film. A premiere date for the new installment is set for November 15.

The original which grossed over $34 million at the box office starred Morris Chestnut, “Private Practice” star Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Harold Perrineau, Monica Calhoun and Regina Hall. Diggs plays an author who is the best man for his college buddy’s wedding. The ceremony is jeopardized when everyone realizes that he’s penned a scandalous novel that resembles their lives. Director Malcolm D. Lee will again helm the project.
