Whoever said skiing was expensive must have been skiing during the season's prime time. And failed to shop ahead of time for lift tickets--window rates are known to be the most expensive. And didn't buy a multi-day ticket--another way to save. And chose to hit the snow from lift-open to lift close--you might not be able to find fresh tracks by skiing in the afternoon but you can save some dough.
But did you ever think you'd be able to find lift tickets for $10? And not at a landfill-turned-ski-hill? Probably not. But that's exactly why Oregonian skiers and riders want to hit up Meadows Ski Resort on Mt. Hood on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
Meadows offers Rotary Night on Monday, January 21, where tickets can be purchased for $10 each. The catch is you can only ski from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., but with temperatures rising in the 50s on the mountain, it sounds like the conditions will only improve as the darkness settles in.
