The Howard Stern Show brought listeners many a joyful moment in 2013. There was Tan Mom Patricia Krentcil's love connection with Sal Governale, "Teen Mom" Farrah Abraham's revelation that she masturbates to her own sex tape and of course, the dramatic turn in which Eric the Actor announced that he's going back to the name "Eric the Midget" again for business reasons. The greatest moment of the year, though, was as undeniable as the chocolate bandit mask on Richard Christy's face.
On October 2, 2013, fans reveled in the triumphant return of co-host Robin Quivers to the Howard Stern Show studio. Quivers had been out of the studio for sixteen months, broadcasting from home via ISDN line when she revealed on air in September 2013 that she had been battling cancer for the past year and a half, and that doctors had pronounced her officially "cured." The emotional broadcast also gave Stern opened up about his own frightening and painful experiences of Quivers' illness and the incomprehensible prospect of doing the Howard Stern Show without his on-air partner of 30 years by his side. Her physical return to Studio 69 on October 2nd was half celebration-half King of All Media sobfest.
"Never get sick again," Stern chided Quivers. "I could never be without you again."
Quivers left the air in May 2012 for surgery after doctors found a grapefruit sized tumor pressing on her bladder. She credits the doctors at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital for her life-saving treatments.
