Part 1 of 3: Do you make the best grilled cheese sandwich ever?
If you do, do I have a contest for you. April is Grilled Cheese Sandwich month and in honor of this occasion the Mt. Washington Tavern is running a grilled cheese sandwich competition and one of the components is a contest for the home cook. You are asked to submit your original recipe for the best grilled cheese sandwich ever via e-mail and the folks at the Mt. Washington Tavern will choose three semi- finalists to prepare their recipes on Sunday, April 10th at the Mt. Washington Tavern to be judged by a panel of celebrity judges.
Deadline for recipes are April 1st, so don’t delay – scribble down your recipe and send it in. Not only do you get bragging rights your win $200, $25 gift card to the Mt. Washington Tavern and other goodies. Contestants will be asked to cook one grilled cheese sandwich, (think presentation as well as taste) that will be given to the panel of celebrity judges.

Part 2 of 3: Do you like to eat grilled cheese sandwiches?
Everyone is invited to buy a $10 ticket to the Mt Washington Tavern’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich cook-off on Sunday, April 10th and taste and help choose the best grilled cheese sandwich ever - proceeds from ticket sales go to Moveable Feast.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. six chefs from the region will be sampling their grilled cheese sandwich wares for your votes as well as our celebrity judging panel. After speaking with a couple of the chefs the gauntlet has been thrown down and they are really serious about the taking home the $700 prize.
The competing chefs:

· Kevin Miller - Widespread Concierge Services
Judging categories include Best Professional, Best Home Cook, Crowd Pleaser, and Kid's Choice.
As I stated, earlier Moveable Feast will receive all proceeds from the $10 ticket price (children ten years and under are free), which includes the cook-off, tasting, and one complimentary signature cocktail designed especially to be paired with grilled cheese. A match made in cheese heaven.
Part 3 of 3: Bring the kids – they get to vote too.
Everyone gets to sip a signature cocktail (or kiddie version) concocted by the Tavern staff, meet Puck, Mt. Washington writer and creator of My Foodie ABC: A Little Gourmet's Guide. Play with the gurus of fun from aMuse Toys, and much more.
(Cool) Progeny is in the house and for the first thirty families that stop by their table there will be goodie bags stuffed by Charm City family-friendly businesses. Watch the video of the kids talking about grilled cheese.
