There was so much beauty at the Golden Globes this year that picking the top contenders for the best dressed celebs is definitely not going to be easy.
If there’s anyone who can pull off the dainty elegance that comes with sixties style make-up it’s Zooey Deschanel. The New Girl, with a Jennifer Behr silk flower in her classic side twist, gorgeous red lipstick with an orange undertone and natural-looking make-up. To perfect this look, keep your make-up light. Play up your eyes by curling your eyelashes and using a dark, volumizing mascara. Complete the look by lining your upper lid with black eyeliner.
Jennifer Lawrence just gets it right every single time. You might think that chopping off her lush golden locks was a bold move (even for Jennifer Lawrence), but does she wear it well or what! At this point I’m convinced that anything this girl touches turns to gold. Jennifer Lawrence rocked the Rouge Dior lipstick in Prune Daisy- a deep brick red crimson that set off her ivory complexion beautifully. To compliment her grey eyes, she wore the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow in Gris-Gris. Line your eyes with charcoal black eyeliner and you’re done!
It was so refreshing to see Emilia Clarke in all her delicate, porcelain glory on the red carpet at the Golden Globes this year. Emilia wore her hair down in soft, loose waves and kept her makeup simple- flushed cheeks, khaki and bronze lined eyes by Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Khaki Précieux and a pale dusty rose lipstick by Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Color in Mystique. Simple is elegant and Emilia Clarke more than proves it!
Lupita Nyong’o’s crimson Ralph Lauren cape gown looked magnificent against her beautiful ebony skin. She played up her eyes with a dust of shimmery gold eye shadow, extended eyeliner and completed the look with a gold tinted lipstick. A general rule about make-up is that if you’re going with a bold dress, then wear simple make-up. If you’re going to play up one feature, go easy on the others. And Lupita sure seems to have mastered this art, letting her elegant make-up and flowing dress speak for herself.
With her hair pulled back in a sleek low bun, Margot Robbie turned a lot of heads on the Golden Globe red carpet. Her skin was luminescent with an ethereal glow and she looked every bit the star she’s set out to becoming. She wore the St. Tropez Gold Skin Illuminator, with a pastel lipstick that lent just the slightest hint of color to her lips.
You saw it at the Golden Globes. Now go try it yourself!
