As long as there is music and as long as there are people the argument over which band is better, The Beatles or The Rolling Stones will always exist. The Beatles took the world by storm with a power-pop rock sound and clean cut image as they warbled about love and girls and holding hands. The Stones made the world their bitch with an edgy blues infused rock sound belting out tunes about love and girls and doing a little more than holding hands thus sending parents into a nervous fits. While they have their differences one thing can be said for sure they both knew how to write songs, put on a performance and push an image. This Friday night at the Loft the argument will not be settled but everyone can come enjoy the music of both bands.
A damn fine group of musicians will converge on the Center Stage complex, set up shop in The Loft then proceed to reel off a selection of tunes from the two most prominent rock bands to ever pick up a guitar. Come hear the likes of Bobby Bare Jr., The District Attorneys, the Shadowboxers, Johnny Clash, Please Please Rock Me, Elliot Bronson and a hell of a lot more as they treat listeners to their takes on some of the classics. Presented by Lenz and 97.1 the River the show is a benefit for Poverty Is Real, a local charity that has taken up the fight to battle poverty here in Georgia using great music as a big tool. For more information on the show and the charity you can check out the links below.
