The battle to liberalize America's standards is heating up

Changing word meanings is a tactic that is being fully deployed in the culture war. An observation by one church leader noted that religion is being out-marketed in many of its traditional positions.

Tolerance has been reworked to mean that every point of view is equally valid instead of the meaning every point of view should be respected at least in conversation. The concept of relative truth for every belief system has already infected the thinking concerning social positions.

The liberalization of standards of truth and opinion have people falling all over themselves to comply with an inclusive hysteria that any standard is subject to debate or scrutiny. This is why the conservative standards that are religious based are being forced to change to a more radically liberal position.

There have been sweeping changes in the definition of marriage to a more liberal construct, the huge change toward the socialization of health care, a meteoric rise to government intrusion to citizen’s private rights, and an assault on the First Amendment on multiple fronts involving the freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and even the freedom of the press.

The spacious label of intolerance was used to pound the redefinition of marriage at the expense of reasonable dialogue. Anyone merely taking a stand for traditional marriage was demonized as being hateful, bigoted, or intimidated.http://www.hannenabintuherland.no/?p=3199

California was a microcosm for the worst example of a political machine engineering controversy in the redefining of marriage. Maneuvering in the backrooms by political and judicial advocacy forced the marriage definition on the public. The rewording of the original petition to vote on gay marriage was a huge deception and one of the biggest hijacks in American political history.

The promise of President Barack Obama on Obamacare that “if you like your health plan, then you can keep it” has been voted the biggest political lie of the year, a real barnburner when one considers all the positions stated then reversed later on. The impact on everyone’s health care whether insured or not is immeasurable, probably in the tens of billions of dollars conservatively if you pardon the expression. Even if it was an honest mistake, it is the biggest blunder in memory regarding impact to the public.

The issue of private rights and government intrusion has escalated into the stratosphere during the current administration. The transparency has been non-existent when weighing the security scandals of our private citizens, private companies, and even our allies. The NSA has a scandal a week leaking through the cracks. The issue of government surveillance and spy drones flying over has immeasurably increased the concerns to constitutional rights.http://www.dw.de/a-chronology-of-the-nsa-surveillance-scandal/a-17197740

Forcing religious institutions to comply with Obamacare mandates that require abortion, sterilization, and drugs that induce abortion are being vigorous challenged by a multitude of religious organizations. The Supreme Court is hearing two cases that will either force compliance or slap down edicts that clearly override the First Amendment. http://blog.alliancedefendingfreedom.org/2013/12/09/u-s-supreme-court-to-hear-case-against-obamacare-abortion-pill-mandate/

Multiple bills have been presented concerning the right to bear arms portion of the First Amendment in the backdrop to the shooting tragedy at Sandy Hook. Restricting high capacity magazines and firming up eligibility of gun ownership due to mental issues need to be put into place, however the gun lobby detests any government intrusion of gun control. This tar baby has been tossed about after any incident of mass shooting for decades.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/13/gun-control-newtown_n_4425157.html

The Justice Department still has explaining to do regarding the tapping of reporters using phones in an indiscriminate display of information gathering. Just the impression of possible censorship of stories being published was enough to set off bell and whistle alarms. It was clearly a case of being caught with your hand in the cookie jar.http://www.npr.org/2013/05/14/183810320/justice-department-secretly-obtains-ap-phone-records

These various incidents point to the fact that the liberalization of standards designed to keep our government in check are being tested more so today than any other time in American history.

Additionally, there are some standards that do not need to be adjusted at all. There is such a thing as a detrimental impact from changing a standard, particularly if it is a foundational one that impacts other indicators.http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/michael-w-chapman/rick-warren-piers-morgan-i-fear-disapproval-god-over-gay-marriage

As the Bible states, everything is permitted but everything is not expedient for you.
