The battle of Iwo Jima event

The Iwo Jima Survivors Association, Inc. is planning to have many exciting events throughout the day on June 12th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p. m at the National Iwo Jima Memorial Monument and Park.


There will be displays about the World War II battle of Iwo Jima. Survivors will be on hand to answer questions about the battle.


There will be tours given by the Survivors and volunteers and presentations on the history of the monument and park.


All attendees will receive a free raffle ticket for various gifts.


Also available for viewing will be videos about the battle and construction of the park. Still in the planning process are activities throughout the day such as a flag etiquette demonstration, guest speakers and Iwo Jima encampment and demonstrations.
