WHY THE BLOOD MOON INTERPRETATION IS WRONG
If you are involved in Christian circles, you are probably aware of the coming so-called “FOUR BLOOD MOONS” (lunar eclipses) and the associated partial and 1 total solar eclipses. Many are erroneously jumping to the conclusion that these normal events are the prophecy mentioned in Joel 2:31 31, which reads, And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke, The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and the terrible day of the Lord.
Acts 2:20; the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before that great and notable day of the Lord cometh.
Luke 21:25-26; and there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s heart failing them for fear and for the looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Revelation 6:12; and I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo there was a great earthquake and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became as blood.
FORGET IT, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!
If you have read my article on the pre-tribulation rapture, you may already know why this is impossible. Let me see if I can keep this very short. I have been warned that my articles are way too long for many folk today. Joel 2:31 Shows that there would be the heavenly signs mentioned above, “before” the great day of the Lord comes. In Matthew 24th chapter, Yeshua (Jesus) made it clear that these heavenly signs would occur “after” the great tribulation. So what we have in coming history, in this order is: (1) Tribulation; where the world persecutes the church. (2) Those heavenly signs mentioned by Joel. (3) The wrath of God, where God takes revenge on the world for persecuting the church.
This is the exact order these events are shown in the first 6 seals in revelation. Read it.
Immediately, people who know the truth that the church must go through 3 and ½ years through tribulation, then the heavenly signs understand what these blood moons do not represent. They are not the end of the age. They are not the coming of Christ. They are not the rapture. They are not what Joel was talking about!
This is a classic case of people “not” living by every word of God, but picking out some words and leaving out others. Let’s look at more of what God said about the time Joel mentioned. In Joel 2:31, above says, there will be wonders in the heavens. Well there has been 54 of these tetrads in the last 2,000 years. 7 have come on Jewish feast days. They can be predicted before hand. There are 4 of those times that no one claimed any thing happened about Israel. Nothing that fits what Luke 21 above mentions, that these “signs” will also be in the stars. These things will scare the heck out of men so that they will have heart attacks. What could do that? The very powers of the heavens will be shaken. This is not some events that could have been predicted thousands of years in advance as these blood moons can and have been. What Joel and the other prophets are talking about this time in the future; it has nothing to do with these normal blood moons. Let’s add to this what Isaiah had to say about this time, yet in the future. “Behold the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it.
