Cleveland flower lovers can expect to see thousands of brilliantly- colored chrysanthemums stretched out in a sea of gardens before them when they attend the free, 22nd annual Barberton Mum Fest being held on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. Barberton is approximately 40 miles from Cleveland and driving time is about 45 minutes.
Barberton Mum Fest Located at Lake Anna, the Barberton Mum Fest will feature over 20,000 mum plants with over a million blooms ( and covering 21 varieties of the colorful flowers) all donated by Aris Horticultural Services.
A featured attraction at each year's Mum Fest is the colorful floral archway set among a variety of mums and other flowers. The design of the floral archway changes each year.
Activities at the 2-day family event include water ski shows and canoe races on Lake Anna, log carving, sand sculpting, arts & crafts, ice carving, vegetable carving and Native American drumming and dancing.
There will also be a Diaper Derby, magic shows and balloon art. Providing some of the free entertainment will be performances by the New Horizons Band and a guitarist.
Of course, there will be plenty of food available for purchase.
Visitors will be able to purchase a variety of potted mum plants. Volunteers will be on hand to help you deliver the mum plants to your car.
Hours for the Barberton Mum Fest are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. Free parking is available in several lots near Lake Anna and on various side streets.
