The Band Perry treasures 2012 Grammy memory, music of Glen Campbell

The Band Perry's latest single, "All Your Life," may be topping the country charts for the second consecutive week at the No. 1 spot, but the trio's members are still abuzz from their recent Grammy performance with a living legend.

Granted, the band yielded a slew of post-show press for their performance with Glen Campbell at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards last week. But per the band's PR camp, the real story that evening was one that went down beyond the spotlights and TV cameras.

This year's Grammy event was The Band Perry's inaugural trip to the big-name event, not to mention it marked the first time they receieved a Grammy nod. However, when the siblings played on the Grammy stage with Campbell, it was a performance that reportedly inspired an intersection of music fans from two generations--meaning Campbell’s fans and the new fans that The Band Perry is bringing to the country format.

Nominated in the the “Best New Artist” category, The Band Perry players were honored to have been asked to take part in the Grammys' historic tribute to Campbell on Feb. 12, which also included Blake Shelton and Campbell himself.

“We are so honored to have been a part of the tribute to Glen Campbell,” Kimberly Perry said. “It was special in so many ways. Our parents have always been big fans and they introduced us to his music in our early years.

"Our performance with him was such an amazing crossroads between our parent’s generation and ours," she continued. "His timeless songs and talent have truly left a legacy that will continue to inspire new artists and new fans alike.”

As many country fans are aware, Campbell recently revealed he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In turn, he's just released his final studio album, Ghost On the Canvas, and will also complete his final live tour, The Goodbye Tour, this year.

“Performing in such a historical moment is something that we will remember forever," noted Reid Perry of the Grammy tribute to the Rhinestone Cowboy. "We grew up listening to songs like 'Gentle on My Mind' and then to be able to perform it as a tribute to the man himself was just incredible.”

“It was not only special to perform with Glen Campbell but also with his band." added Neil Perry. "We are a family band and his family is also in his band; his children are part of the group. We really felt like everything had come full circle for us. They made us feel so comfortable and part of the family."
