After mind-boggling success at country radio following the release of their debut CD, the members of The Band Perry are now gearing for the release of their sophomore on April 2.
Per a Jan. 10 correspondence shared with Examiner.com, the album's title is yet to be determined but already it's spawned a hit with his inaugural single, “Better Dig Two,” which has found its way into the top 10 in just two months and generated more than 650,000 digital downloads thus far. In turn, this early success has made the single the trio's fastest-climber to date.
Thanks to landing a slot as the special guests on Rascal Flatts' Changed Tour, the Grammy-nominated act will take a break from recording this weekend and head to Moline and Springfield, Ill., for shows on Jan. 11 and 12, where they will unveil their new show, complete with stellar production and a sneak preview of new music from their forthcoming release.
Moreover, per the band's PR camp, the sibling trio recently announced, via social media, the launch of a brand-new website created for and dedicated to their fans. Last fall, the award-winning lineup sponsored a contest wherein fans submitted names to be considered for the new site. Subsequently, the fans responded with "The Fans Perry."
The newly launched, free community is the hub for all things Perry when it comes to Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, including exclusive The Fans Perry news, meet 'n' greet opportunities, presale ticketing, photos, events and more. Fans have unlimited access to the site and are able to post photos, videos and comments.
More about the trio
Since signing to Republic Nashville in 2009, The Band Perry has quickly catapulted into the mainstream, in part, due to the success of their platinum, self-titled debut album. Now approaching sales of 1.5 million, the project produced two gold-certified hits – the No. 1-ranked “All Your Life” and “You Lie” – as well as the quadruple-platinum, “If I Die Young,” which took the No. 1 spot on both country and AC charts.
These milestones helped establish TBP in 2011 as both ACM and CMA's New Artist of the Year and the CMT Music Awards' Breakthrough Video of the Year, as well as the "Best New Live Act" in a category sponsored by Nationwide Insurance. They also took home the CMA Single of the Year and Kimberly Perry was honored with Song of the Year for penning “If I Die Young.”
