The Band of 'Brave Men' Now Call Tulsa Home

What is it about Tulsa that draws musicians like bees to honey? If success begats success, our homegrown hit-makers sometimes dubbed the ‘Wrecking Crew’ Leon Russell, David Gates, Jim Keltner, Jesse Ed Davis, Elvin Bishop,  Anne Belle, Richard (Moon) Calhoun, Lynn Woolever, Marcy Levy,  Carl Radle, J.J. Cale and host of brave souls threw caution to the wind laying the groundwork for others to follow. And follow they do.  Throughout the 70’s and beyond, the Tulsa influence has attracted the likes of Floridian Tom Petty, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Michael Bolton with Grammy winning producers in tow.

The most recent transplant to Tulsa is 'Bravemen' . By way of Lakeland Florida, founding member Barry Seal moved to Tulsa on the advice of band partner Jerry Smith in the summer of 2011. In a short six months Brave Men and their new found Tulsa fans have much to look forward to.

The energy of Brave Men is no accident.  Each member leaves no doubt to their role in the group.  Founder Barry Seal on vocals, guitar and lap steel steel. Jerry Smith; guitar and vocals.  Ric Berryman; on bass and vocals. Greg Reeves on drums, percussion and vocals.  Combine this with an 'A list' original song catalog five albums deep, the future of Brave Men is more than able to carry Tulsa's tradition of great music to the nationwide stage.  To catch the Brave Men live go to http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Brave-Men/183415885016683 for their schedule of performances at a venue near you.
