The Baha'i Faith's First Day of Ridvan

Today marks the beginning of the Baha'i Faith’s celebration of a twelve day festival commemorating their founder taking the office of prophethood upon himself.

Baha'u'llah—the Glory of Allah—announced that he was the one foretold to come by a forerunner, the Bab (who had been executed by that time and could not affirm of deny the claim).

Following claimed to be the return of Jesus, the Second Coming of Christ and claimed to fulfill prophecy from every world religion.

Albuquerque houses a Baha'i Center at: 5700 Ouray Rd NW

I appreciate this article highlighting the Baha'i Festival of Ridvan. The writer states that Baha'u'llah's name means the Glory of Allah. Technically this is not wrong, but in fact it is more accurate to say that 1/2 of Baha'u'llah's name was translated.
In Arabic "Allah" is not a proper name; it means merely "the God". Many in the West (erroneously) regard "Allah" as if it were the name of a different Diety from the God of Moses or Jesus. In Arabic, one of Jesus' titles is "Ruh'u'llah" which means Spirit of God. When Christian Arabs pray to God in their own native language they say "Allah" simply because that is how one refers to God in that language.
In brief, Baha'u'llah''s name is from the Arabic language and its proper translation is simply "the Glory of God." There is only one God; the same God that in previous times sent Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad has most recently sent Baha'u'llah.
I hope these few words of explanation are helpful.
    Thanks.
