Half the fun of watching “The Bachelorette” finale is seeing if Reality Steve got the ending right. The longtime spoiler king made his predictions for Andi Dorfman’s season back in May—and he’s even got video to prove it. We'll have to see if his record for this season stands (he's been on point with just about everything so far), but there’s one thing that can’t be spoiled: The “After the Final Rose” special, which airs live on Monday night on ABC.
On Sunday, the reality show’s executive producer Mike Fleiss tweeted, “Tomorrow is the live 3-hour Bachelorette finale!!! I can't wait.” Technically, only the final hour of tonight’s broadcast is live, as the actually two-hour finale episode was taped months ago. The third hour of the finale, the “After the Final Rose” update, marks the first time that Dorfman and her final pick will be seen in public together since taping ending in May.
Andi Dorfman's final two men are Josh Murray, a 29-year-old former professional baseball player, and Nick Viall, a 33-year-old Wisconsin native. But readers of Reality Steve’s spoiler blog were given the ending to the season back in May, and since then the longtime “Bachelor” blogger has had to defend himself against naysayers.
That’s because Reality Steve has video proof of which man was rejected at the final rose ceremony, and some critics are crying foul. In May he posted footage of the disgruntled “Bachelorette” reject, which just happened to be recorded by an old friend of the blogger who was seated behind him on an airplane. What are the chances that a friend of Reality Steve’s would be seated right behind Andi’s bitter ex? Almost unbelievably, this video turned up weeks before the premiere of “The Bachelorette” even aired, making it even less likely that anyone on the plane would know who this guy was.
Gossip sites like The Stir and Bustle have already predicted that Reality Steve is being trolled by ABC and that the video was put out there to throw him off. And while the spoiler king is usually correct with his finale prediction, his last attempt at a “Bachelorette” ending had him eating a bit of crow when he incorrectly predicted Desiree Hartsock’s outcome last summer.
But Reality Steve seems very confident this go around. Last week he posted, “Thank God now only I’m only 6 days away from being vindicated. Gets old hearing the same stuff season after season after season about how I’m wrong. This isn’t a guess, I’m not predicting who I THINK she chose, nor am I trying to predict who would be a better fit for Andi. I’m telling you who she chose at the final rose ceremony back on May 9th because I KNOW who she chose. Big difference. 6 more days. 6 more days. 6 more days. C’mon, start the chant with me.”
Tonight we'll find out is he's right.
“The Bachelorette” finale airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
