'The Bachelorette': Ali Fedotowsky, Jake Pavelka both feeling burn of spoilers

Last summer, there was an editorial piece written at this site about spoilers and the impact they were having on TV. In it, the thesis was fairly simple -- some viewers simply enjoy the rush of finding out "what happens next" before everyone else, and so spoilers as a part of TV will likely be here to stay.

As it turns out, the original story was just a little ahead of the curve. Thanks to "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" over the course of the past year, spoilers have almost become an art form. Reality Steve took down Jake Pavelka's show challenge by challenge, and many viewers knew Vienna was going to be his pick for much of the season. For some people, this just became a fun new way to watch the show.

Thanks to this, many gossip sites started to report the news as to what happened on the show -- as if viewers already knew. The problem? Many people don't want to know all the secrets.

A perfect example of this occurred Wednesday with a new story on Us Magazine, which revealed the "potential outcome" of the season for Ali Fedotowsky. What if people were just on the site and didn't want to know what happened? The only real interesting part about the story is that their "spoiler" contradicted what Reality Steve has already reported about the season. Someone is obviously wrong, and for the first time doubt is coming back in to reality TV.

For the first time, it even seems like the information already out there is impacting the show -- why else would "The Bachelorette" show us that Frank is going to do something "terrible" to Ali in Tahiti?

Do you have a problem with all the spoilers, or do you wish sites would at least relegate where they are posted? Feel free to share your thoughts below.

i hate the spoilers. And Frank sucks! Ali was falling for him hard. and he is just an insecure baby.

I saw some Bachelorette news pop up on my Yahoo! page and so I naturally went to read it, only to have the outcome completely spoiled for me. No warnings or anything. I didn't want to know! These days it seems impossible to watch a show unfold without people spoiling it. I'm not happy with that.

i hate all the spoilers.it ruins everything.reality steve needs to be stopped.im not happy with him for posting the spoilers.someone needs to stop leaking out all this information.

I love the spoilers. The shows are silly. And super-facial. Why not combine the two together? It seems the people involved are marketing types, smiles and say whatever to get your brand across.

I purposefully avoided all spoilers this season so I could watch the season unfold "naturally" (I read spoilers last season and it ruined it for me) and to watch ABC spill pretty much the rest of the season in their previews really ticked me off.

I agree with Michael, someone over at ABC needs to figure out who the leak is and stop him!

ABC ruins the show by showing too much of what happens on future shows. Their "teasers" enable the viewer to see who is still there and who is gone. It's ridiculous! A LITTLE bit of tantalizing information would go a long way

I think it should be MANDATORY for EVERYONE that has ANYTHING to do with the Bachelorette/Bachelor, including the guy who sweeps the floors, to take a lie detector test to get down to the bottom of who the mole is.
I HATE SPOILERS! I don't even go to spoiler sites, but as Heidi said, "pop ups come across" or you're minding your own business and WHAM, you’re lead to a link that “tells all.” To me, spoilers are like turning to the last couple of pages of a book to read how the story ends. SHAME on ABC, and SHAME on SPOILER STEVE!
They need to get back to basic, 101 Bachelor/Bachelorette; stop purposefully allowing those that have an agenda, “Justin”, to be on the show just for ratings. SHEESH!

I love spoilers because I no longer need to waste my time watching a full length program and all the boring fill in junk. I can spend a few minutes scan-reading the basic details and thats all I need. Thanks to reality steve, I can spend more time doing things I should be doing.

I HATE SPOILERS...The whole reason I watch the seasons' is to get the rush of the unknown:( It makes me not want to watch the rest of the season. Iloved Frank and thought Ali and him were so good together. But now I know he has another love and that it wouldn't turn out the way I was hoping for:( I went on a website to just read about previous episodes and blogs by ali and the guys...then got the spoiler news:(((
    -Very dissapointed
