The Bachelorette” continued its two-night event tonight, June 2, with the whole gang taking off for Connecticut. The guys made themselves comfortable in the hotel and took a look at the first date card. It was for Dylan, who went to get ready.

Dylan and Andi took the Essex Steam Train up the river. They talked about past relationships and got to know each other better. Dylan made a side remark about a break up that happened after his brother’s funeral, but he didn’t elaborate on the story, and Andi could feel him holding back.

At the hotel, the group date card arrived. It was for JJ, Chris, Andrew, Eric, Nick, Marquel, Cody, Tasos, Brian, Patrick, and Josh. That left Marcus for the other one-on-one date.

Andi and Dylan changed for dinner, and Dylan finally shared the story of how he lost both his brother and sister to overdoses. After tears were shed, Andi offered Dylan the rose. She explained she didn’t want him to think it was a pity rose – she was offering it to him because he opened up to her, and she had never been so moved. They ended the night by pulling the train’s whistle.

The next morning, the guys met Andi for their group date, which was playing basketball. Andi suited up with some women from the WNBA to play, but they eventually divided the guys up into two teams to battle it out. The winning team would have a date that night with Andi, and the losing team would go back to their hotel room. Brian, Nick, Cody, Andrew, Eric, and Marquel were on the red team, while Chris, Josh, Tasos, JJ, and Patrick were on the white team.

Things got competitive with the guys, and the red team dominated the second half of the game, winning the second portion of the date with Andi. Andi felt bad and hugged the whire team, who went off to sulk in the locker room, where they could hear the red team celebrating.

Everyone changed for the dinner portion of the date, and Andi and Eric sat down to talk first. Andi was concerned their relationship wasn’t progressing, and Eric was frustrated that everything was so formal because that just wasn’t him. Andi worried she didn’t know much about Eric besides his work, so he talked about his family. After their conversation, Andi felt they were back on track. Andi and Brian went back into the basketball arena, and since he is a basketball coach, he gave her some lessons. She was impressed when Brian made a half-court shot, but they never kissed.

Andi did kiss Nick, who she said she felt most comfortable with. Andi gathered the guys and told all of them they had impressed her. She said the rose was going to someone who continued to impress her and open up and offered it to Brian.

Even though Andi is terrified of heights, she and Marcus still went rappelling down the side of a building on an incredibly windy day. Andi had a complete meltdown and almost didn’t go down, so Marcus had to try and coax her to do it. She eventually calmed down, and the two shared a kiss just before they passed over the guys’ hotel room, where everyone startled them by pounding on the glass.

Andi and Marcus changed for dinner and talked about their past relationships. Marcus felt there was something about Andi that made him open up and be himself. Eventually, Andi offered Marcus the rose, which he accepted. They headed outside for a concert from Jon Pardi. As they awkwardly danced, Marcus told Andi he was falling in love with her.

Andi lounged in her hotel room the next day and received a love letter from a secret admirer. She read the letter out loud, but it wasn’t signed by anyone, so she didn’t know who it was from.

Andi made her usual speech to start the Cocktail Party, and Tasos immediately asked her to step aside with him. Brian took Andi back to the basketball court to kiss her, since he hadn’t the night he made the half-court shot. Andi enjoyed her time with Marquel, which always lightened her mood.

Eric told Andi he didn’t feel like she was being herself with him and even said he wanted to meet a person, not a television actress. Eric said Andi always had a poker face on, which he understood to an extent. She said she respected his openness, but she was taken aback. Andi eventually ended up in tears because she was so offended and felt Eric was calling her fake. Eric apologized and said he wanted her to be totally comfortable with him. Andi didn’t feel Eric believed in her, so she decided he should leave.

Andi snapped and went to the other guys to tell them if they thought she had a poker face, they could walk out. She said she was exhausted, and this was so real to her. Meanwhile, Eric went out to a cab and headed home. He felt Andi didn’t understand what he meant and explained he just wanted her to be comfortable around him.

Instead of the Rose Ceremony, Chris Harrison appeared in a pre-taped segment with Andi to discuss Eric Hill’s passing. After he finished filming the show, he was tragically killed in a paragliding accident. Andi said he caught her eye early on and had everything she thought she was looking for. She felt there was more openness with other people. Chris wondered if Andi would have changed anything, and she said her last conversation with Eric wasn’t how she wanted their last conversation to go.

Chris wondered how the news changed Andi, since she found out after the last hometown date. She said she got caught up in everything and all the little details of the process, and his passing put everything in perspective. Chris then explained that Tasos was the only one who left at the Rose Ceremony after Eric’s departure before sending condolences to Eric’s family and friends to close the show.
