Reality television brings together many interesting personalities. In the spirit of gaining ratings, ABCs The Bachelor starring Ben Flajnik is not far behind. With bachelorette Courtney Robertson, they may have outdone themselves. Each season fans watch some of the women become friends with each other despite the fact they are vying for the same guy’s attention. At the same time, there is always that one woman that could care less about connecting with the other bachelorette contestants – in comes Arizona model Courtney. Only four episodes into the season 18 of The Bachelor and already she has managed to alienate almost every single woman on the show. Her words and actions leave the other women wondering what is going on through her mind. As a woman, she has created this image of herself that is quite snide and incapable of empathy for others. Is this how things work in the dating world when the cameras are turned off Miami fans?
The Bachelor: Courtney trades birthday suit for Ben's heart
Creating friendships and building dating relationships takes many things, including mutual respect for others. In Courtney’s case, it seems that she has taken matters into her own hands by simply disregarding the feelings of everyone else around her, including Ben. Making remarks that hurt others left and right and holding back those thoughts while in Ben’s presence make it seem as though she is orchestrating the entire persona she is presenting. Seeing others feeling hurt or misunderstood does not stop her from making her less than class comments. Here are just three examples of Courtney quotes from the fourth episode of The Bachelor season 18, all right after she learned Ben has sent home Elyse from their one-on-one date:
“Blew my panties off.”
“Maybe she drank too much and the ‘Jersey Shore’ came out!”
“I hope I’m a sight for sore eyes because after the date with Elyse, his eyes are probably sore!”
The Bachelor: Ben Flajnik fooled by lesbian creampuff
Each of these comments Courtney either made straight into the camera or in front of the other girls when Elyse’s luggage was picked up by The Bachelor staff. While the other women were trying to figure out what had happened on that one-one-one date that warranted Elyse’s departure, Courtney was busy trying to figure out more ‘witty’ ways to express how happy she was another bachelorette had been eliminated. Miami fans were in awe as she continued to make sarcastic comments regarding the circumstances during the episode – how far will she go with her antics? Far from creating friendships with the other women on the show, Courtney has pretty much taken ‘hate the player, not the game’ to a whole new level!
