The special “Countdown to Juan Pablo” aired on Sunday evening on ABC. On January 6, ABC News reported that this program that prepares fans for the season premiere of "The Bachelor" took a few minutes of the show to pay special tribute to former contestant Gia Allemand.

Allemand was one of the potential mates on ABC's "The Bachelor: On The Wings of Love" as well as a season of "Bachelor Pad." She was known on "The Bachelor" and in general as being a very kind and loving person.

It came as a shock this past August when news of Gia Allemand's death began to circulate. It was reported the Allemand took her own life. At the time, she was living in New Orleans and was involved in a serious relationship with New Orleans Pelicans star Ryan Anderson.

In tribute to this beloved contestant on "The Bachelor," a few minutes of the "Countdown to Juan Pablo" segment featured a montage of Gia Allemand footage. A few other past contestants spoke about their experience working with Allemand and her mother, Donna Micheletti, was also given a chance to speak about her daughter's life.
