"The Bachelor" has returned for season 17 to Channel 15 in Tempe. On Tuesday, Jan. 8, Entertainment Weekly and People Magazine shared the comments made by Chris Harrison and Sean Lowe about the first episode. Wetpaint Entertainment also shared new details about one of the women sent home. If you missed any of the previously released photos or spoilers for this series, go here.
On the first episode, 26 women showed up to win Sean Lowe's heart. The new bachelor had to spend his time talking to the women. Chris Harrison said the following about how Lowe handled the pressure of the introductions:
"Sean was pretty nervous but I have to say the guy did great. It’s not very easy and he was pretty smooth and handled himself well."
The first rose of the night went out during those introductions. Sean handed Tierra a rose on the driveway of the house. He continued to hand out roses during his conversations with certain ladies. Lowe spoke about the decision to hand Tierra the first rose. He said the following, according to People Magazine:
"The woman who made the biggest impression on me was Tierra. I can't explain it but I just felt an immediate connection with Tierra. Her piercing eyes and beautiful smile stopped me in my tracks and I knew right then and there that I wanted to give her a rose. I didn't stop to think that by giving her a rose so quickly I might be putting a target on her back, but I'm glad I made that decision because I knew I wanted to spend more time with Tierra."
Not every woman was handed out a rose though. One of the women sent home on the first night was Paige. She had appeared on "Bachelor Pad" as a Super Fan, and she returned to the series franchise to meet Sean Lowe. She did not make an impression on him though. According to Wetpaint Entertainment, she is now dating though. A source said the following to the site:
"[Lance DeGroot's] her boyfriend. They were actually introduced by a mutual friend before she left to film The Bachelor, but it wasn’t until she got back that they really had a chance to get to know each other. Like her, he works online — as a senior marketing analyst. It’s still fairly new but they’re really into each other."
Fans are buzzing about the return of this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
Sean is the best bachelor that they have ever had. He's amazing! I hope he finds someone great #thebachelor
