"The Bachelor" has now aired its second wedding ceremony. Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney actually tied the knot a week and a half ago, but ABC has now finally aired the wedding.
Of course, before we had the opportunity to actually hear the couple say their vows, we were forced into witnessing a plethora of pre-produced packages. Hey, it' s Jake Pavelka and Vienna! Remember them? Unless you have a short-term memory, you should. Hearing them talk about "struggling" brought the first bit of unintentional humor into the show. The second part? Watching Jillian and Ed, who also managed to show up to the wedding. For someone who has been on TV so much, Ed is really averse to actually engaging in conversation.
We then saw much of the wedding preparation, from the early planning stages to the wedding party to host Chris Harrison trying to pry away event planners long enough for the interview. There was almost enough drama for, say, an episode of "The Bachelor." Both the paparazzi and the rain tried to invade the wedding...to various degrees of success.
I know it's easy to be cynical with specials like these, especially when you consider how sugary-sweet ABC managed to make these specials. However, the traditional thing to do in situations like this is to wish the happy couple the best. So here we go: Jason and Molly, you two have went through enough drama over the past eighteen months to deserve at least a few months of peace. Here's to hoping it works out for you.
The only other curious part of the show was watching Ty's disappearance from the camera. Did the mom pull a Jon Gosselin and pull him off TV? (Jason said it was more or less mutual, but you never know...)
