‘The Bachelor’ Feb. 4 recap: Tierra’s tears, catty women & Sean’s doubts

Just when fans of ‘The Bachelor’ think that the show can't possibly get any more dramatic, they are proven wrong. The Monday, Feb. 4 episode of the episode was definitely the most intense. Not only were the women on edge, but bachelor Sean begun having doubts about the entire experience.

This week we made our way to Montana. Sean always readily admits to testing the women. He is always wanting to see if so and so can open up, if so and so can get her hands dirty, if so and so can laugh at herself, or rough it out in the wilderness. Who can blame him though? He’s there to find his match….his spouse (just like the subject of all the other failed previous seasons were).

Okay, okay….all pessimism aside, Sean takes Lindsay on the one-on-one date of the night. They take a helicopter ride to Glacier National Park. Though Sean almost sent her home on episode 1, he’s clearly glad he kept her around. She showed up in a wedding dress, laid one on him within the first 30 seconds of meeting him, and then wound up completely plastered…but he kept her around. Obviously he sees something special in this one. Their day long date involved a picnic, dancing to Sarah Darling’s singing, and a whole lot of good conversation. This girl is definitely going to be in the final four..Do you agree?

Then it was on to group date time. Thankfully no one got injured this time, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t intense competition. The girls were split into two teams, and have to win a relay race in order to spend the evening with Sean. There’s always a catch on this show, isn’t there? In order to win time with Prince Charming, they have to canoe down the river, buck hay, saw a log, and milk a goat. Then, they must drink the goat’s milk….which in itself may be a deal-breaker for some of the high-pitched voiced girls.

Though each team gave a good fight, Desiree won it for the red team by chugging the goat’s milk, sending the losers back to the hotel. However, in the midst of spending time with the winning team, Sean thinks he needs to get to know everyone more, so the losing team winds up joining the party.

During the group date, the troubled Tierra decides she just cannot take this two-on-one date business. She goes flying out of the hotel to find Sean, and interrupts him during a confessional. She manipulates him by complaining that she came all the way to Montana to hang out with him, and that she feels the two-on-one date is a slap in the face. As always, Sean reassures her.

Before long, Sean is locking lips with Catherine, and then comforting a sobbing Daniella. Sean acknowledged Daniella’s opening up, and gave her the group rose.

Next up, a date card arrives that says “Two Women, one roses. One stays, one goes.” The women going on the date? Jackie and Tierra. Oh boy, considering Jackie has had about 2 minutes of camera time, and Sean is blinded by Tierra, we know the fate ahead of time, right?

This date is a horseback riding one, because you know we’ve always got to keep it adventurous on ‘The Bachelor.’ Tierra is driving Jackie crazy throughout the entire date, and the sweet girl decides she should probably let Sean know about the mean girl. Jackie tries to warn Sean about Tierra without sounding like too much of a drama queen, but obviously he is too taken up with her to even process what Jackie is saying.

After Sean talks to Tierra one-on-one, he is reassured of how he feels for her, as she opens up about her past. She tells him about her ex of five years that was in and out of rehab, and wound up dying. She is afraid of getting close to anyone because she doesn’t want to lose them.

You guessed it. He sends Jackie home despite her sincere concern for his heart. Tierra’s two-faced ways are rewarded with fireworks under the stars.

Right before the cocktail party, Desiree admits to insecurity about Sean because of all the other girls there. Sean is taken aback that Des isn’t as confident about him as he thought. Hmm…isn’t it kind of hard for a girl to be confident when their man is kissing other girls and trying to assure all of them of the same thing?

Sean walks in to the cocktail party while Tierra and Robyn are having quite the verbal fight. After Sean pulls Tierra aside, she blames everything on the other girls…..of course. She claims that they are attacking her. Sean decides to ask Lesley what is actually going on. Lesley tries to clue him in without completely throwing Tierra under the bus. Sean isn’t even happy with Lesley’s information…he wants direct answers.

This episode we see a different side of Sean. He is clearly disturbed with the drama, and vents to Chris Harrison about his dilemma. He doesn’t like the vibe from the cocktail party, and feels like he’s had a horrible week. He doesn’t even know if his wife is there anymore (imagine that).

Still though, the rose ceremony proceeds. Robyn is the unlucky lady who is sent home.

Likely Robyn was eliminated because she stood up to his precious Tierra. Oh well….we all know how these shows go, right?
