“I’m not here for drama….I’m here for Sean,” could pretty much summarize episode 3 of Season’s 17 of ‘The Bachelor,’ except for the fact that we have tumbles, beach volleyball, record-breaking kisses, “crazy Kacie,” and such to address.
Sean has had a bit of a thing for Lesley M. since the beginning so it wasn’t a surprise when he took her a one-on-one date, and it really wasn’t a surprise when their date involved trying to beat the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for “Longest on-screen kiss ever.” In case you missed it, they succeeded....infront of a large crowd of people. Hope they had some breath mints, or better yet that they chewed that Mento’s spearmint gum ahead of time ….you know the kind with the long lasting flavor?
Either way, Sean enjoyed the kiss and was mesmerized by Lesley. She later makes a “shocking confession” to the camera: She is falling in love with him. Okay, that's what they all say. Nonetheless, Lesley is a likeable character, and is among the favorites for this season.
Moving right along to the group date: A beach volleyball game in which the winners got to spend more time with Sean, while the losing team had to return home.
Leslie H. and Kristie were on the losing team, and they are obviously not graceful losers. They contributed to the tear requirements of each Bachelor episode.
Good ole’ Tierra, AKA the “Courtney Robertson” of this season irritated the girls later when she opened up the date card. She read AshLee’s name and then added Selma on her own, before saying "just kidding." Sarah especially wasn’t amused with her inappropriate joke.
Desiree and Amanda have a growing displeasure with one another, and during this episode, Kacie B. decided she was fed up with it, and that Sean should know about the drama. She went to him about the two feuding women, before she admitted that she was going to be selfish and take advantage of the situation. However, Sean seemed very puzzled by her intentions of bringing this matter to his attention. He didn’t understand why the issue at hand affected Kacie, and told her he wanted her to act like Kacie…..not like this crazy person that he is seeing. It seemed apparent that right then and there, Kacie had regrets, and knew that she was on the chopping block. Her fears only increase as Lindsay gets the rose.
AshLee is excited about her first one-on-one date with Sean, but her anticipation is interrupted with drama queen Tierra taking a big tumble down the stairs. The producers phoned 911 and Sean. Though AshLee seemed concerned about Tierra, it was obvious that she wondered if the fall was staged. When the ambulance arrived to take Tierra away, she refused to go with them. Of course her sticking around as the "wounded one" gave her a chance to dig her claws into Sean just a little deeper.
Nonetheless AshLee’s date with Sean still happened, though they wouldn’t completely be alone at the amusement park. Sean had invited two girls that are best friends and suffering from the same chronic illness on their date. The two had never met in person before, and they both are Bachelor fans, so the day was set to be doubly exciting for them. The date concludes with Sean’s favorite band, "The Eli Young Band" performing for them.
Now for some more sweetness: Sean had a big surprise for Sarah. This girl has won over viewers with not just her story, but the class that she presents herself with. Sean knew that Sarah may feel a little lonely after not getting a date with him this week, but he wanted her to know he was still thinking about her. At first she is afraid she is going home when she sees the limo pull up, but instead she is greeted by her loving dog “Leo.” Good going Sean!
Later at the cocktail party, the women are stealing Sean left and right. They are all competing for attention with him, and he described them as being “ruthless.” Maybe he is starting to figure out who some of them really are.....okay, probably not.
It wasn’t long before we were back to the stage of the rose ceremony. Before Sean began handing out roses though, he said he wanted to talk with Kacie. The hometown Clarksville bachelorette that was one of the favorites to win on Ben’s season found herself rejected once again. Sean decided that they were best off as friends, but had too much respect to put her through the ceremony. Though Sean didn’t say it, it was easy to assume the his deciding factor on her elimination was the report card she had given him on Desiree and Amanda.
At the rose ceremony, Tierra finds herself one step closer to getting her “tiara” at the end of season 17…..so she thinks. Leslie H, Catherine, Daniella, Robyn, Selma, Sarah, Jackie,“creepy Amanda,” and of course Desiree, are all safe for another week.
In addition to Kacie, Taryn and Kristy were left without roses.
Did anyone else feel legitimately sorry for Taryn? She’s 30, she’s beautiful, and she said she wishes she were married, but she guesses it’s not her card. Her heartbreak appeared to be very real, and just another added disappointment to what has probably been a long and tiring dating life. Something seemed genuine about this girl that we have seen very little of…perhaps because she wasn’t a huge drama creator. It was obvious that on her way out, she was blaming herself for possibly being guarded and not opening up. Likely Taryn is jaded to a point of not knowing how to open up anymore. Okay sorry for the rant…but her exit was possibly one of the most “real” moments on this season of 'The Bachelor.' Kristy bawled her eyes out…but ummmmm…it was a little annoying, and she said she and Sean could have been a fairy tale.
Anyone else think we need to see more of Jackie? She probably won’t last much longer since she tends to hide from Sean, but she seems like she would have had as good of a chance at his heart as anyone. She comes across as a respectable person, but I guess that explains why she will probably be exiting the roster soon. ‘The Bachelor’ isn’t for everyone….which isn’t a bad thing.
Next week, we have roller derby and continued Tierra drama to look forward to. Oh boy, here we go!
What are your thoughts on this week’s episode? Did Sean eliminate the right girls? Who is your pick for him at this point?
