On Monday, Jan. 14, season 17 of ‘The Bachelor’ brought us episode two. Bachelor Sean said that he felt good about everything, and that he was optimistic that his wife is in this group of ladies.
Who scores the first one-on-one date? Sarah. She was thrilled that Sean chose to overlook the fact that she only has one arm, and felt appreciated by him. She truly seems like a sweet girl, and Sean continued to be impressed with her. Though the girls wish they were in Sarah’s position, they seem to be happy for her for the most part.
A helicopter arrived to pick up Sean and Sarah, and they were taken to the top of a 360 foot building where Sean informs her they will be zip-lining. Though she was a bit nervous, she really handled herself well, and Sean admired it. After they made the jump, Sean said he felt closer to her. Sarah revealed that she was going to go zip-lining one other time with her Dad, but at the last minute she was pulled away due to a safety rule that prevented her from participating, because of her physical disability. She really shared her heart with Sean and let him know how much it meant to her that he had the faith in her that she would have the courage to do it. Sean was clearly developing a deep respect for her and connection with her, and the date ends with a kiss…..and a rose.
Later, the first group date takes place. The ladies go to a large house, where Sean is waiting outside just like prince charming in a fairy tale.
Tierra’s true colors quickly came out, and it was obvious that the girls have her number. As most seasons go though, the bachelor is being fooled by the villain. Tierra flat out tells the camera she is not there to meet friends…she is there to meet Sean. Can we say Courtney Robertson?
The girls learn that they are going to be part of a photo shoot…but not just any photo shoot. They are going to be cover models for Harlequin romance novels. Whoever has the best chemistry with Sean will be appearing on 3 real book covers for everyone to see.
During the shoot, the girls admitted to the camera that they can’t stand Tierra, and as the day went on, she rotated between two faces: The face that Sean sees and the face that the girls see. Sean however, continues to believes she is sweet and real, but did end up catching on that she was bothered by the photo shoot.
Lesley M. and Selma make a good impression during the photo shoot, but Kristy, who has modeling experience ultimately “brought it on.” Kristy happily snagged the 3 book cover deal.
Selma’s response to the camera: “Girl you can have the cover…I’m gonna have the man!”
Later, it’s pool party time! Lesley M. and Sean go aside for a one-on-one talk. Sean feels a connection and wants to kiss her, though Lesley appears to be a bit nervous. Lesley says she’s a traditional southern girl, and wants the guy to make the first move. (She is becoming one of my favorites).
Though Lesley didn’t initially snag a kiss from Sean, she found herself thinking that maybe she should go for it. She got that chance, and Sean clearly enjoyed it.
Fans of the ‘The Bachelor’ have been watching Sean and Kacie closely wondering if there is potential with her, being that they have been friends before, and she was on Ben’s season. Sean admitted he is excited about her, but it has been a transition going from a friend to a girlfriend possibility. Kacie got a little nervous, but Sean assured her that he wants to explore them.
As the individual date cards come around again, it is Desiree that scores date #2.
Meanwhile, Kacie and Katie had a talk about the experience. Katie confided in Kacie that she just doesn’t feel like this is the right setting for her. As you might have guessed, Katie told Sean that she wants to go home.
At the conclusion of the group date, Sean said one conversation in particular stuck out to him: The one he had with Kacie. Subsequently, he gave her a rose taking her from friend zone to possible girlfriend zone.
Tierra said she wanted to punch her….shocker, huh?
Desiree went out on her date with Sean having no idea what was in store for her. She was about to be the victim of a serious prank, because Sean wanted to see if she had a sense of humor. Though it was an uncomfortable situation, it showed just how much Sean was really testing her out. Desiree thought the art work around them was worth thousands, and maybe millions. She has no idea that everyone around her is an actor, and that the piece is only worth $5. Sean was taken away for what Desiree thought was an interview. As she was left alone, the piece fell and broke. The actors tried to make her feel terrible, and lay the blame on her. She tried to explain herself, and assure everyone that she didn’t touch it. Sean felt bad since for playing a prank on such a sweet girl, so he soon went in to assure her that it was all a joke. He was impressed with how she handled it, and called her a great sport. Yes, Desiree passed the test. Sean then took her back to his place for dinner. Sean said it all feels really natural and comfortable, and she’s the first one to really make him feel that way. Needless to say, he gave her a rose. Anyone else think this girl is a front-runner?
Going into the final rose ceremony, Kacie, Sarah, and Desiree had nothing to fear.
Though “awkward Amanda” was expected to get the boot, Sean decides to keep her around, not realizing she puts on a different face for him than she does for the girls.
The two eliminated ladies were Brooke and Diana. Brooke said she is ready to find love, and that Sean is a great guy, but not the guy for her. Sean told Diana that since he didn’t see anything long-term with them, he didn’t want to keep her away from her daughters any longer.
Next week the drama continues. If previews are as they appear, Tierra is taken away by an ambulance, and the spark between Sean and Lesley M. is continuing.
