The Bachelor: Ben unrequited love history reason for ignorant bliss

In the fourth episode of The Bachelor season 18 with Ben Flajnik, Ben spilled his guts in regards to his dating and relationship history. A telling turn of events, Ben commented on his relationship past, why he continues to look for love and why his past relationships have not worked out. Being a bit vague in his accounts, it basically boiled down to his breakups being the fault of his girlfriends along the way – blame game anyone? In a conversation during one-on-one time with one of the bachelorettes, Miami fans saw how Ben basically stated that his past loves have not really loved him back – remember The Bachelorette Ashley Hebert. Ouch! What does it say about you when you feel that your past partners have not felt the same that you have, not even once?

Self-esteem is an important factor in dating relationship success. If you put out signs that you feel insecure of unloved, chances are that is where you will find yourself. What is normally attractive to others is someone that is confident and secure. Sending signals that you feel someone does not love you, or assuming as much, can doom a dating relationship or marriage from the start. Ben’s statement was the following:

The Bachelor: Three not so classy Courtney quotes

This is a pretty grim statement from such a young man. This brings up the question – is Ben keeping some of the bachelorettes around because he craves the attention from them? Having felt that he has not had love in the past, and is getting something now, which may or may not be real love, is he blinded in his decisions? At the fourth rose ceremony, he eliminated bachelorette contestant Jennifer who appeared to be genuine in her affections for him. In her place, he kept Emily, the bachelorette that continues to speak about Courtney Robertson during her one-on-one time with him.

It’s important to also point out that he has not even has a one-on-one date with Emily. Then why would he keep her? Is it the attention he’s getting from her? The attention from Emily, even if it appears somewhat misguided is attention nonetheless. Will Ben eventually realize his decisions may again keep him from finding love a second time?
