“The Bachelor’s” Sean Lowe is painted to be such a nice guy on and off the screen, so when he offered to donate his sperm for his sister to have a child via a surrogate, people that know him weren’t surprised. According to Radaronline on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, his sister and her husband are devastated over their struggle to have a baby after spending more than $20,000 for unsuccessful infertility procedures.
It was Sean’s idea to donate sperm to his sister so she could use a surrogate to have the baby, this way the child would still have the family's blood line. A family insider revealed that Shay and her husband weren’t the only ones devastated over the unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant. It really upset Sean, who is close to his sister. Family is Sean’s whole world and having children goes along with that. After hearing numerous times that his sister’s attempt to get pregnant had failed, Sean just had to find a way to help.
It is not known if Sean’s sister ever took him up on this offer, but this is such a private part of someone’s life, so you may never know. It is surprising that this season’s “The Bachelor” ever let this offer leak out to the point that the media got a hold of it. While it is a noble gesture, it might have made more sense for his sister not to have her struggles to become pregnant part of headline in a tabloid.
