Tonight, Jan. 13, The Bachelor picked up where last night’s behind-the-scenes special left off. During last night’s special, Chris Harrison chatted with Juan Pablo the day after his first Rose Ceremony, and Juan Pablo took his daughter, Camila, to preview the winter wonderland for his first one-on-one date. The show also checked in with the ladies as they moved into the mansion, along with the women Juan Pablo sent home the first night. Even Sean and Catherine visited with Juan Pablo at his mansion to discuss how the first night went while Chris Harrison explained the process to the ladies. Chris left the first date card on the table, and it was for Clare.
Tonight’s episode got right into Clare and Juan Pablo’s date. Juan Pablo picked Clare up and blindfolded her for their drive. The two ended up at the winter wonderland prepared for them, and they went sledding and ice skating. They ended the night in the hot tub conveniently planted in the middle of the winter scene. Talk quickly turned serious as Clare opened up about her dad’s passing, and Juan Pablo offered her the rose. Former The X Factor finalist, Josh Krajcik, showed up and gave Juan Pablo and Clare a private concert as snow fell down.
Back at the mansion, Lucy was already flaunting her “true Hippie” style in standing topless in the hot tub as she talked to some of the other women. The second one-one-one date card arrived for Kat.
Juan Pablo drove Kat to the airport to ride a private jet to Salt Lake City. The two changed into neon glow-in-the-dark outfits and joined a giant mob of colorful people at the starting line for the Electric Run, which the two of them jumped around at and got started. Juan Pablo and Kat danced the entire run, right along with the other participants. After the race, the two of them climbed up on stage and danced for the crowd before Juan Pablo offered Kat the rose.
At the mansion, Clare read the group date card, which was for Chelsie, Christy, Kelly, Cassandra, Andi, Renee, Lauren, Alli, Chantel, Nikki, Elise, Victoria, and Lucy. That left Amy, Danielle, and Sharleen without roses.
The next day, all 13 girls piled into two limos and headed off to meet Juan Pablo for their group date. Everyone went into the warehouse and learned they would be participating in a photo shoot for charity. The ladies learned they would all be paired with dogs for a “sexy” photo shoot, and they would be dressed to match the dog they were partnered with. Elise and Andi were both pretty unhappy to learn they would be completely naked, aside from cardboard signs. Being that Andi is a lawyer and Elise is a teacher, Elise went to the art director to ask if there was anything else she could wear. Elise did the next best thing and asked Lucy to trade her fire hydrant costume, which she happily agreed to do. As the other girls worked through their shoots, Juan Pablo sat down to comfort Andi by telling her the two of them would do it together. Apparently, that was all it took for her to hop up and strip down to only a cardboard sign, which the other girls thought was no big deal.
Later that night, everyone went to a hotel. Cassandra and Juan Pablo took time to chat first, and Cassandra told Juan Pablo about her two-year-old son. Juan Pablo took Renee up to the rooftop, and she told him she and her son were writing to each other in journals every day. Renee awkwardly mentioned that she thought Juan Pablo was going to kiss her earlier, but he just said they were in the moment for the photo shoot and shut her down.
Victoria made friends with alcohol and quickly began her demise. Nikki tried to warn her that others thought she’d had too much to drink, but she assured her this was how she acted when she was sober. She ended up alone in the hot tub making a fool of herself before she went on a mission to find Juan Pablo. She almost interrupted Nikki’s alone time with Juan Pablo, but she abruptly turned around and ended up sobbing in the bathroom. Renee went in after her to try and calm her down, but she was pretty crazy and out of control by this point. Victoria tried to go home and ride the elevator down without shoes on, but a producer told her she needed shoes and he would have to book her a flight and a taxi. Lucy went to tell Juan Pablo what was going on, so he went in to talk to her. She refused to respond to him and said she didn’t want to talk, so he waited outside. Juan Pablo returned to the rest of the women and offered the rose to Kelly. Juan Pablo asked the ladies to make sure Victoria got home safely before he headed out.
Victoria never made it home, so Juan Pablo visited her at the hotel. Still in her swimsuit and cover up, she gave Juan Pablo a pretty insincere apology and said, “Welcome to Brazil.” The two discussed what happened the night before, and Victoria blamed her behavior on being angry and embarrassed. Eventually, she said she could have been more adult about the situation, but Juan Pablo told her it was best to not wait for the Rose Ceremony and for her to just leave then.
Juan Pablo told the other women he’d sent Victoria home as soon as he arrived at the mansion. He also pulled Amy aside right away, and she practiced her interview skills on Juan Pablo. Sharleen apologized to Juan Pablo for her reaction when he gave her the First Impression Rose and said she had never been so surprised in her life.
Cassandra struggled with being away from her son and wondered if staying was worth it. She talked to fellow single mom, Renee, who completely understood. Juan Pablo quickly caught wind of what was going on and went to talk to Cassandra. He was able to calm her down.
The Rose Ceremony began, and Juan Pablo handed roses out to Cassandra, Nikki, Andi, Elise, Sharleen, Renee, Danielle, Lucy, Alli, Chelsie, Lauren, and Christy. Clare, Kat, and Kelly already received roses on dates, so that left Amy L. and Chantel as the two leaving.
