Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor took Sean and the final three ladies to Si Kao, Thailand for the infamous overnight dates. Sean recapped his relationships with each of the three before his first date with Lindsay began.
Lindsay was determined to tell Sean she has fallen in love with him, and the two hopped in a cart pulled by a bike and took it to the market to explore. Afterward, they spent the gray afternoon eating at the beach. Sean told Lindsay she is the best friend he has been looking for before the sun came out, and the two changed into swimsuits to feed creepy little monkeys on the beach. The monkeys looked on as the two got hot and heavy out in the water.
Later on, Sean and Lindsay changed for dinner and ate among floats they had set up at this time of year. “There were flowers made out of petals,” Lindsay announced. (Wow, flowers…made out of petals? Shocking.) Sean asked Lindsay if she would move to Texas if they got engaged, and she said she would and was excited for them to start their life together. Lindsay again attempted to tell Sean she loved him as a parade of performers strolled in and interrupted. Once they finished, Sean handed the overnight date card to Lindsay to read, which (as always) gave them a key to the fantasy suite if they chose to forgo their individual rooms. Lindsay told Sean she would love to spend that time with Sean before they headed up to the fantasy suite, which made Lindsay feel like they were a real couple. Finally, after a lot of awkward silence, Lindsay told Sean she loved him, which he told her he loved to hear.
Next up for her date was AshLee, who hopped onto a boat with Sean. Sean was very vague about where they were going. He finally told her they had their own private beach, but they would have to swim through a very dark, deep cave in order to get there. (Oh, how surprising. AshLee has a fear of abandonment and is afraid to break her routine, so let’s throw her into a dark cave and see if she floats). Naturally, they made it through to the beach on the other side after the “life-changing experience” in which AshLee let go.
After their day on the beach, the two changed for dinner, which they also ate out on the beach. They discussed the qualities they loved about each other, and Sean was very complimentary of AshLee all throughout dinner. Sean handed AshLee the fantasy suite card to read, and she paused. Sean interrupted and told her before she answered, he just wanted to let her know he wanted to spend the extra time with her, so she babbled on for a while to make Sean think she was going to say no before eventually saying yes. In the fantasy suite, AshLee told Sean the exact type of ring she wanted, along with her ring finger size.
Catherine ran up and jumped on Sean at the Ao Nang Beach. Sean told her they were taking a sailboat around the island, and the two skipped off, hand-in-hand. As they relaxed on the boat, Catherine thanked Sean for accepting her weirdness and told him she has never been more honest and vulnerable with anyone. Sean asked Catherine if she could come to Dallas and warned her that things can change once the cameras are gone. Catherine said she was expired from Seattle and added she was really upset about what her sisters said during her hometown visit. Catherine admitted she had been in a long-term relationship and was afraid to commit at that time, but now she was ready. The boat stopped, and the two of them did back flips into the water to go scuba diving. Eventually, it started pouring rain, so the two of them climbed back into the boat to kiss, which Catherine said was the most romantic thing she had ever done in her life.
The couple changed for dinner and talked about what their future might be like together. Sean admitted he could see himself marrying Catherine. Catherine said she had thought about the fantasy suite before she came on the show and just assumed she would never do it. She still wanted to be seen as a lady, but she realized it would mean more time with Sean. He told her it was valuable time for the two of them to spend alone, away from how fast-paced everything else was going. Once in the fantasy suite, Catherine told Sean he is such a hunk, and she was made fun of throughout her life, so she never was in a bathing suit more times in her life than with Sean. Sean told her she is smoking hot, and he is the lucky one.
Sean sat down with Chris Harrison for a chat. They discussed how this was the week Emily broke his heart and how he had been blind-sided. He already knew who he was going to send home and explained this trumped sending Des home during the previous Rose Ceremony. Chris left Sean alone to watch three video messages prepared by each of the ladies and ponder his decision.
Chris greeted the final three ladies before introducing Sean, who gave a long speech about how this was the week he was blind-sided and sent home during Emily’s season. He worried he was about to do the same thing. Finally, he handed roses out to Lindsay and Catherine, after what may have been the longest pause in the history of this show. AshLee looked about ready to do physical harm to Sean and walked out without saying a word. He followed her and tried to explain himself, but she told him to wait there as she stormed toward the car. He told her he thought it was her from the beginning, this was the hardest decision he ever had to make, and he thinks the world of her. AshLee stood silent and just kept blinking at Sean before climbing into the minivan that awaited her. In the car, AshLee turned away from the camera to hide her tears and called it “the ultimate reject.”
