Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor brought Sean and the ladies to Alberta, Canada. Chris Harrison welcomed the women to Lake Louise and told them there would be two one-on-one dates and one group date, with roses up for grabs on all of them. They headed up to their suite, which had an amazing view. The first one-on-one date card arrived for Catherine, who had only been on group dates thus far.
Poor Catherine stood outside in the cold, in the middle of nowhere, waiting for Sean, who finally arrived on a giant snow bus. The two of them changed into snowsuits and went out to explore the glacier. Catherine and Sean acted like kids as they played around in the snow. Later on, they changed for dinner and went on a horse-drawn carriage ride. They ended up at an ice castle, and Catherine opened up to Sean about a traumatic experience she had at the age of 12, where a tree fell down and instantly killed her friend. Sean then offered her the rose as they snuggled by the fire.
The group date card arrived at the suite for Tierra, Sarah, AshLee, Lindsay, Selma, Lesley, and Daniella. This meant Desiree got the one-on-one date, which left Daniella confused and in tears.
The next day, the ladies met Sean down by the lake for their date. Naturally, they went canoeing. (Does Sean ever think of Sarah? Gosh). Lesley jumped at the chance to row with Sean in his canoe, and he told her to take a break from rowing, so she turned around and faced him. After all their hard work, the ladies rowed ashore and discovered tents set up along the shoreline. Sean told them they were going to continue embracing Canada with the “Lake Louise Polar Bear Plunge” to jump into the water and completely submerge themselves. While they did not have to participate, he reminded everyone they only live once. Selma immediately said she was not going to participate, and AshLee was also concerned. The women changed into robes and tried to keep warm. As they removed the robes and ran in wearing their bikinis, there was plenty of screaming. It didn’t last very long, but everyone was very happy they did it. Just as the ladies celebrated their success, Tierra lost it and couldn’t stand up. They wrapped her up and carried her out of the tent as Catherine and Desiree watched from up in their room. They first put her in a car before taking her inside to warm her up and get the shivering to stop. In the meantime, Catherine and Desiree ran downstairs to check on Drama Queen Tierra. They worried about the other girls after seeing the state she was in, but the rest of the girls ran upstairs and told them about their amazing experience. Tierra laid in bed with oxygen hooked up to her nose, and Sean came and checked on her and joined her in bed. He also asked her not to push things and come to the party later – he thought she should stay back at the hotel and rest.
The remaining six ladies from the group date changed and met Sean. Lesley wanted to open up to him, so after they talked about their day, she told him she was excited to have feelings again, since she loves love. She was grateful for the memory of their day and felt she was definitely falling for Sean. Sarah brought out a picture of her family from a long time ago and continued to show him pictures from her childhood. The thought of meeting Sarah’s family was a big deal and scared Sean.
Back in their suite, Desiree’s date card came. It read, “Don’t be scared…to fall in love.” Meanwhile Tierra decided to go to the party after all, in heels even, and dressed to go join the group. On the date, the girls discussed Tierra being like the boy who cried wolf and how she overdramatizes everything. Of course, in walked Tierra, and there was silence. The others asked how she was feeling. After walking in all on her own, Tierra hobbled off and followed Sean to talk. He commented on how warm her hands were. (But the rest of her body was still cold, she said. Sure, Tierra). Lindsay took the opportunity to steal Sean away for some quality make-out time before Sean offered the rose to Lesley.
Sean felt a turning point with the women, but he didn’t want to lead Sarah on after she showed him the pictures of her family. He went right up to the girls’ suite and asked to talk to her. He brought her back to his room and told her how easy it was to choose her for the first date; but lately, he felt he had been trying to force things. He thanked her for showing him pictures and told her he wanted it to work badly, but it hasn’t been there. Sarah spoke up and said she would be lying if she said she wasn’t totally hurt and surprised. Sean said he didn’t want her to sit through a Rose Ceremony, and she agreed. They hugged, and Sean walked her back upstairs so that she could say good-bye to everyone. The poor girl couldn’t even gain enough composure to walk back into the room. Finally, she went in and told everyone else what happened. She had a very tearful exit on the ride to the airport and wondered why this always happens to her.
The next morning, Des got ready for her second one-on-one date with Sean. He picked her up, and the two went hiking in Banff National Park. Sean then revealed that in order to get to their picnic lunch, they needed to rappel down the mountain. Des was really worried and afraid of falling, but the two eventually made it down to the bottom. They challenged each other to a tree-climbing challenge and erased all the awkward feelings they had in Montana.
Later on, Sean and Desiree changed and sat by the fire inside a teepee to talk. (Sean apparently found his very own Grandpa sweater for the occasion). Sean commented on how positive Des was, and she explained that her family never had a lot of money and sometimes had to live in tents, fifth wheels, and small apartments until her parents could afford to live somewhere else. By the end of the night, Sean had offered Des the rose, and the two did plenty more kissing. They both felt the spark come back again.
To start the Cocktail Party, Sean told the ladies he was feeling much better than he had in Montana. He spent time with Selma, who asked him to hold still. She then leaned in and kissed him to show her love, since she hadn’t done the Polar Bear Plunge. Even though kissing someone on national television was a huge shame to her family, she said, “Mama, please forgive me” because she had to “bust out the big guns.” Next up, it was Lindsay’s turn to talk to Sean, and she told him she wasn’t going to kiss him as they talked about their experiences in Canada. She confessed to sleeping naked, which Sean didn’t have a problem with. Eventually, the two ended up kissing after all. AshLee gave Sean a scarf to blindfold her and lead them to the possibility of their future. He went ahead and blindfolded her right away, which was very difficult for AshLee. Sean got tired of dragging her along, so he picked her up and carried her to sit down. Through AshLee’s tears, the two of them kissed, and he finally removed the blindfold. (Apparently, this was a very emotional experience for her).
Chris Harrison interrupted the party and took Sean away to prepare for the Rose Ceremony. Yet again, the women hoped Tierra would go home, knowing that Catherine, Lesley, and Desiree each had roses already. Sean handed the only three roses out to Lindsay, AshLee, and Tierra, leaving Selma and Daniella as the two to go home. Sean told Selma he really enjoyed getting to know her, but Selma couldn’t believe Tierra made it through yet again. Daniella was in complete shock and didn’t enjoy the feeling of being rejected. As she told the camera she was keeping a straight face, she burst into tears. Back inside, Sean told the remaining six women he felt a sense of clarity, and they would be heading to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, which everyone was very excited about.
Tune into The Bachelor when it returns to its regular time slot next Monday night at 7 p.m. on WISN 12 in Milwaukee. Sean is down to his final six ladies, and one can only hope it will finally be Tierra’s turn to go after her giant fight with AshLee. Who do you think will make it through to the final four?
