This might be worth your fancy, if you like cartoons, comics or superheroes. The latest cartoon offering from Toronto Cartoon Geek Haven – TELETOON AT NIGHT promises to be an innovative comedic take on a superhero theme.
Presenting: The Awesomes!
Emmy® Award winners Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker (Late Night with Seth Meyers) have created this series that describes the misadventures of a misbegotten legacy child named Prock (voiced by Meyers) who needs to live up to his father’s expectations.
For 60 years The Awesomes has been America’s number one superhero group. Their pre-eminence is threatened when Mr. Awesome retires – and all the most powerful members decide to leave as well. This leaves his son, Professor Doctor Awesome aka Prock left in charge of a nearly vacant team and faced with the Herculean task of rebuilding the supergroup and restoring its former glory. Will he succeed … or will he almost certainly fail with hilarious results? Prock and his team will take viewers on a fun-filled ride as they face the combined powers of the evil Dr. Malocchio (played by Bill Hader) and the idea that the world might not like them.
The Awesomes features the voices of Rashida Jones (Parks & Recreation), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), and Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, along with Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan and Josh Meyers. Season 1 begins Thursday, September 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on TELETOON at Night following the season premiere of American Dad.
“We are excited to host the North American broadcast premiere of The Awesomes on TELETOON at Night,” said Katie Wilson, Director, Programming at TELETOON.” This series delivers on outstanding comedic writing, strong yet hilariously-flawed characters and an all-star team of voice talent that will resonate with our audience.”
The Awesomes promises comic book storytelling with irreverent and inspired comedy. Executive produced by Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, and Broadway Video, The Awesomes is a Hulu Original, which made its debut on the streaming service last year and Season 2 premiered this week on Hulu in the U.S.
